Just bought these the other day. Anyone else have a chance to watch them?

I'm really eager to watch the ABC network prologue featuring Harry Dean Stanton as Eastwood's character.

I bought both of these and "Duck You Sucker" the week they came out, but I haven't had a chance to watch them yet.

Harry Dean Stanton doesn't play Eastwood's character. He plays the guy giving Eastwood's character (Joe, No-name, or Manco) his orders to "clean up the town", legitimising Joe/No-name/Manco's amoral actions in the movie.
Joe/No-name/Manco is played by some short guy who isn't even wearing the right wardrobe. It's a curiosity of sorts to watch, but it really ain't anything worth looking forward to seeing.

As far as curiosities go, that is a good one to look forward to seeing.

The bit where they cut in a close-up shot of the real Clint (where the lighting is all sorts of discontinual) is priceless.

I just find it interesting that the network went out and shot a new opening to try and jusitfy Joe's actions in the movie. It completely changes the character in distract ways.

Finally saw For A Few Dollars More and I loved it. There is such a natural progression from Fistful, For A Few, and The Good The Bad & The Ugly in terms of scope and thematic resonance. They each deserve a better transfer than the original releases.

Amazon has the Leone Anthology boxset on sale for $35.99. It is a one day sale. Anyone who was putting off picking it up or is just curious about it should pick this up.
