did you not read my post? i do it to annoy you. specifically you. that is my "excuse," cause since January (when i joined), you are the only one to complain about my lack of caps. you did so twice. and then you made a thread about it. which is just sad.

i don't type in "text speak." i don't shorten "you" to "u" and i hate shorthand like LOL. my posts are (i believe) perfectly legible and understandable. i prefer to be judged by the content of my posts, and what i actually have to say. i would rather someone take me to task for the ideas that i choose to express, as opposed to how i choose to express them. i don't think anyone else is having a problem reading what i post.

555, here's the thing about capitalization, and you're not the only one who does or has done this. Typing in all lower case doesn't make your posts illegible, but it does make them a bit harder to read. And it's so easily fixed that it's vaguely insulting to the people who are supposed to read them not to do it. You say you want to be judged by the content of your posts. Well why should any of us waste our time with them if their author doesn't think they warrant the extra 3/4 of a second it takes to hit the shift key a couple times to make them more easily readable?

Also, your vagina's open. You should zip up.

As an English professor once said to me. I paraphrase as this was many, many yeas ago. English is a living language; not like one of the dead ones which rules are now set by the stone. English has changed and will change. You, as you've survived four years of me and my colleagues, some insufferable, prattling on about the importance of the structure of the language, I release to use the language with the full knowledge of it and the let it live through you.

That's my excuse. In the past I wrote posts in non-capitol, only using them for proper nouns other than myself. I had reason for this, outside of these boards. They were my rules. The rules have changed and I now wrote in "your" proper English. (Although I do leave my posts frequently strewn with typos, as I'm not an editor or a natural typist.)
