Dammit.

I don't think this necessarily puts him out of the running, though.

Gore was on the Today Show this morning. I don't know if they asked him about this or not; I didn't have the audio turned up. Seemed like a love-fest, though.

If Bush can drive drunk and use cocaine and still be "elected" president, and his daughters be such party girls, I think even Fox Noise will have trouble making this a huge liability for Gore.

The best part of this story is that he was doing 100 mph...IN A PRIUS! That is just hilarious.

That was my first though, too, yt, but remember - this is the same party that essentially impeached a president for getting some head from a woman he wasn't married to while the guy running the proceedings was cheating on his wife. Do not underestimate their ability to disregard incredible cognitive dissonance.

I was doing about 90 on I-15 yesterday on my way home. A Prius shot past me like I was standing still. Wimpy hybrid, my ass. Those suckers can move.

He's got that benefit concert thingy this weekend. I guess the news shows are playing softball with him.

Sad truth. The GOP machine seems to actually use cognitive dissonance as fuel. I suppose I should be happy that they've embraced an alternative energy source, but...

I agree that it doesn't put him out of the running if he had the desire to run. Kids make stupid mistakes. I doubt there are many people out there who were hoping for Gore to run until they heard his adult son got arrested for drug possession. Something tells me that the type of people who would be swayed by something like this probably wouldn't have been the biggest Gore supporters to begin with.

Doing 90 in a Prius is nothing - the cabin is quiet and at peace. Handling is just as smooth as it is at 30. Toyota's don't fuck around.

They're now reporting that Big Al is cancelling all interviews for the rest of the week. I think they're afraid this news will shadow the concerts. And in our media-obsessed culture it will. This is a much juicier media story than green concerts. Especially with this being the son's second run-in with the law around cars and drugs.

Oh, and this would be spun much, much worse than anything Bush or his kids have done. They key is whenever something involves driving under the influence the media (for good or bad) works up the "other people could have been killed!" aspect. Getting head or smoking out at home doesn't potentially hurt or kill others. Driving a car 100 mph while stoned however is a different story. And that is exactly how the spinners would do it.

The lack of an aftermarket gunrack for my Prius is my only regret of purchasing that car.

At least he didn't kill anyone.

There are a ton of storage compartment for pistols, however.

And honestly, when you're doing 90 down the highway, you really want to using a shorter barrel.
