Just some photoshop artwork

If you have the time please give me a little feedback on some of these pieces.

#1 planet

The actual planet texture on the red impacted planet is from Star Wars and the "eart" one is also one I found. The texture of the moon with the crater and the big planet on the left i made myself. The bottom planet is just a photo of some mountains I put a atmosphere one.

The rest is draw with my tablet or made with effects and filters. The explosion took the longest.

#2 This was actually the first I made in the "space" category but then decided to use this destroyed moon as a part of the first work.

#3 I'm not really into photograpy (yet) but took this picture in a garbage dumpster and decided to make it into a fake cd cover. The blur was made with the camera settings and not photoshop, something I was proud of at the time since I rarely take pictures.

#4 & 5 Just a coupple of poster I made that are now hanging in the very room where I'm sitting now

#6 and me in a multitude. A rather difficult manipulation because the photos of me where taken indoor and was in pretty awfull condition.

#7 Old Man out. I enjoy making photographs more "dark/sinister". Many magazines use this technique but unfortunately it requires photographs of very high quality with lots of data before you can do anything good that will work when printed.

#8 Something I really like to do is making imitations of real objects. Many ppl do this with 3D software but I try doing it with Photoshop/illustrator. These are some of those efforts. My old monitor and my new one (the rest of the foot is still missing on my new one but I will finish it later). The only things that is not made by hand are the screenshots that fill up the screen area. On the second one it is a screenshot of the progress so far.

I was hoping for some tasteful shots of your girlfriend getting ramrodded.

I like them a lot*.

*Sorry, I don't have much to add but I just dread this pattern of anything you ever do being connected to that dildo thread, so I was trying to get the thread back on the rails.

I like the first one and the second one but the red specks in the top left look like MS Paint.

yeah I know, I never really finished the explosion on that second one cause I began working on the first one. The problem was that the angle of the explosion on pic #2 is way off so I dropped it. All those little MS Paint specks would have been fixed. But hey...

The Ghost of Titan shot shows promise. Pretty solid work all around.

I fucking regret ever making that thread and will probably never revisit it again. I don't know what I was thinking.
I guess you don't think straight when your girlfriend is flapping a midget's leg (no offense) in front of you, telling you she wants it up in her.

I have added a few pieces and will do this from time to time. Hope you guys critique them.

My profession leans more toward Graphic Design in general so I will talk about #4 & 5 first.

I like Symbiosis except for whatever is coming out the back of the guy's head. I'm sure it was the chick's hand or something but it doesn't read well at all and I would suggest you just take that whole part out.

The Brothers piece has some very well done elements (the tree, the tall grass) but I think it really suffers because of how the two soldiers are placed in relation to each other. It doesn't read well at first and takes a few seconds for the brain to figure out that one is carrying the other and that they were not involved in some freak chemical explosion that fused them together. I realize you may have been working off of a photo reference for the soldiers, but it helps to break up the silhouette so you actually see the standing soldiers arm bend.

The Endangered Planets: It looks pretty good as a whole, but I would suggest that you make tail of the asteroid hitting the foreground planet a different color than the halo around the large background planet. Because they are roughly the same color and they meet at the planet, instead of drawing your eye to the planet like you want (which you really don't need to because you have made the foreground planet glow) they could confuse the viewer at first.

I like the first one just because that one planet is eating that smaller planet.

PS's Lens Flare filter is fun to use, but easy to over-use. Maybe think about photographing a genuine lens flare against black, and compositing that.

Also, the impact ring in #1 is off-center. Might look better at an angle.

#4 & 5 are my favourites, but I agree with Mattimus about the soldiers looking like they've been fused by nuclear waste or something. The computer screens, if made from scratch, are phenomenal.

The picture at the top bothers me somewhat. I think it's mostly the composition, with the planets, the spaceships (which don't look great IMO) and earth just kinda hanging around near the top of the shot. Doesn't really feel like there's a focus to me. Esecially with everything being of similar exposure. And the titling is also a bit wonky.

But other than that, good work dude.

*insert dildo joke here*

Thx for your input guys. Surprised to see such professional advice and I agree on most of your concerns. All the pieces are pretty old so I'd like to think that I would have done better today :-)

Unfortunately I really don't have much time to make these "for fun" projects any longer, since all my time goes into making annoying flashbanners for companies.

They are. Even the little Viewsonic logo is recreated from scratch. Ppl really don't think too much about them when they see them cause what's the point in drawing a monitor? But I'm proud of them cause they took so long to make and they are pretty challenging to get to look right.

#7 ruled the bunch.
You are an excellent photographer, when you capture something as touching as this it needs nothing.
Just you to see it.
