Glad you had a great time. Any advice/suggestions for those of us planning the trip?

We had a reservation for 29 June-05 July (airline tix using double SkyMiles and everything). Had to cancel because we couldn't get a passport for the newest family member in time.

A few days later the State Department issued the new rule regarding travel to Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Proof of passport application all that's required now. C'est dommage.

We'll try again before the school year starts.

Because it is also in the Bahamas, I will say that Exuma is also worth your time.

Yep. Not as many sandy beaches as you'd expect but twice as many hadokens.

I will say that Atlantis is the only place to visit in the Bahamas. The rest of the islands are shit.

I saw a show about this hotel on the Travel Channel. They have a lot of employees and such.

Exuma was great. I just went there two weeks ago and had the time of my life. I say this as someone who doesn't care for traveling and has never been a big fan of tropical climates.

Prefer the One and only Club myself, but each to their own. Overall I wasn't that impressed with the quality of service in the Bahamas, but then as a long haul from Europe (compared to a short hop from the southeastern US) perhaps my expectations were unduly and irrationally exaggerated.

I'm in Antigua right now, and its a nice place. Thats what I keep telling myself since I'm stuck here another 8 months.

On a trip home, we had an unannounced detour to Dominica. Now if memory serves me correctly, parts of Jurassic Park was filmed there. Imagine my surprise when I awoke after a night of drinking to find myself flying into the island of Jurassic Park! Yeah I was still drunk, but now I was kinda fearing I was going to take on dinosaurs. In short though, the island kinda sucked.

Atlantis seems to pop up in a James Bond film or two (Goldfinger, Casino Royale). I've visited, and its quite fun, but Sandals in Antigua has pretty much the same things.
