No, but people that come online to shill their shitty comedy bits are held in fairly low regard.

Ahh, spoken in true "I'm just so smug" fashion.

Actually, I didn't come on here to shill anything. I came across this segment and it actually reminded me of what a lot of people on here say about the "typical" American movigoer and what their tastes are. I thought there was an interesting connection between the education displayed by people in this piece, and what I frequently see spoken of here on CHUD. Thought it may make for some interesting commentary. Hope that helps.

It's not exclusive to America. I'm sure you can find a random sample of ignorance and idiocy in any country.

That Star Wars vs. PotC thread is awesome. And by 'awesome' I mean 'pathetic.'

What's even more pathetic is searching a poster's threads just to post them in a completely unrelated topic. If you don't care for a subject, fine, but I've never understood the need to come in and make some (usually assinine) attempt at an insult because of it. I ignore threads I think are not worth my time, and I certainly don't attempt to derail them by engaging in irrelevant nonsense. What's so hard about "I don't care for this topic, so I'll ignore it" is beyond me.

Of course, on the Internet, there are plenty of "I feel inadequate in my own life, so I live to engage in petty behavior towards strangers on the Web to make myself feel intellectually superior" types.

Now THAT'S pathetic.

If someone takes the time to dig up one of your stupid ass posts and make a link for it, I'm going to take the time to read it. Seeing as how they closed the original thread, this was the only place I could make a comment seeing as how I missed the initial run of your brilliant 'discussion.'

You sure have an axe to grind with everyone here and with the internet in general. You might want to unplug your modem and treat yourself to an Otter Pop.

In other words, "Yes, I'm the typical smug assh*le that you'll find on boards like these who has nothing better to do than participate in posts that he feels are beneath him instead of ignoring them. I will also take the time to engage in lengthy back and forths with someone who's topics and presence I don't particularly care for". Makes no sense to me, but carry on if it makes you happy.

When did I ever say I had an "axe to grind with everyone here"? The link I posted at the start of this thread is in DIRECT CORRELATION to what posters frequently express on this site towards the "general" American moviegoing public. Namely, they see them mostly as little more than slobbering dolts. I would especially think an arrogant prick such as yourself would recognize this.

My comment about you having an "axe to grind" was related to your reaction to anyone that doesn't post something that meets your approval. You got called out in that other thread for posting a list of names and then "discuss." It has nothing to do with the video you posted.

You are very stand-offish towards people which I find funny because you have been a member since 2001. You should fully know what to expect around here. Furthermore, you should know better than to post this in the Main Forum. At the very least, this belongs in Humor or Misc.

I may be an arrogant prick, but you are the one with the Napoleon Complex running your mouth off about how you'd slap the taste out of our mouthes if we decried how dumb your SW vs. PotC thread was in public.

When I read your words I feel as though a penis were entering my brain and I want it to go away.

On a side note: Only stupid people think that ignorance and stupidity are the same thing. I hate these kind of "look how stupid people are, they don't know stuff!"-bits.

Those aren't americans, they're southerners

Goddamn I wish we had just let them separate from the union.

and to answer your question, yes, those are the people going to see Transformers and Die Hard 4, and who are not going to see movies like Paprika and The Fountain. Their loss.

You spelled "American" wrong, Einstein.

Better go back to school, before you post in this thread again.

And, fellow Chewers, what the hell's a Chudster?

That's obviously correct, they're not mutually exclusive.

But not being stupid, IQ, intelligence, is about forming patterns and recognising connections, accessing information that is already there and drawing logical conclusions from that. It's not too far-fetched to assume that a moron sticking a camera in one's face might be a little distracting, and a clip like this gives no indication as to whether the people on it are stupid. Intelligent people know this.

...I know I'm being grumpy and boring, ruining the joke and all, but I don't care.

It is a stupid piece that is not honest with its audience. It is funny, but you would think most people in the world know its just silly.
Yeah... I know the bit's just silly, but it's a pet peeve of mine. Also, I'm in a bad mood, so I don't find it funny.
