The Iraqi people have excercised their self-determination several times in elections with high turn-outs to vote for their government. The elected Iraqi parliment has then exercised their self-determination several times in voting for American troops to stay.

Is the self-determination of an elected government overrided by the self-determination of the minority Iraqis who use bombs to try and make us leave?

I personally believe that the legitimate voice of a country's self-determination is it's elected government, not groups who use violence, kidnappings and assassinations to suppress other's self-determination in favor of their own.
