Oh for fuck's sake, I've just bought the Phantasm Sphere.

Still, I'll be first in line whenever Phantasm 5 wends its way to DVD over here in Europe.

I just picked that up about a month ago myself... eh, the ball's already pretty damn big, forget about another disc.

Watch them back to back to back to back if you can, it's amazing how well they all join together.

I thought this piece was that retrospective article you promised a bit back. Alex, you tease!

Nice bit of (maybe) news, though.

Been confirmed that there's no actual Phantasm 5 footage there, but the idea of a read-through is... interesting.

Phantasm 4* ended up on my Blockbuster's destroy list because it hasn't been rented in a year, so I rented it and intend to keep it at my house until we're done with this particular inventory reduction.

*Also on the destroy list that I'm saving: Intruder and Salem's Lot.

Are there any plans on releasing 2 in the US yet? Or rereleasing 4 (like the recent Anchor Bay versions)? WTF? Is it a rights issue? My lust for evil Jawas and fingers that mutate into evil insects demands it!!!

Part II is one of my all time most wanted DVD's. I have looked a few times on EBay for a Region 1 burn of the PAL version, but never had much luck. I watched 3 once and didn't like it, but I was young and need to watch it again. Shit I even have the Phantasm II theatrical poster signed by Don.

The Phantasm series (parts 1 & 2 especially) has always been one of my favorite horror series. I always viewed them similar to Alien series, part 1 is more intimate while Part 2 is the Action version of part 1, part 3 being more of a letdown but still has its perks, and 4 being lackluster at best but having some really good elements that tie it into the larger story.

Watching that little clip at the begining really makes me wish I had millions of dollar's, I would gladly invest 2-4 million just to see the old 1999 script made.

Pretty cool read through footage. The only one that I have is the MGM release that I picked up practically brand new last year for 5 bucks. I don't have the re-release, or the dvds of III or IV, so if this one is made, I'll get the inevitable box, or sphere set. Wasn't Bruce Campbell supposed to be attached to 5th one?

I recently bought the digipak variation of the sphere set (for about $20 w/ shipping from dvd.co.uk), having only previously seen the first one. 1 is of course a classic, and 2 is awesome... 3 not so much... but 4 works really well for me... as a conclusion to the series. A sense of finality and closure kind of permeates the whole film. I can't quite see it being followed by another, because it wraps up the series so nicely. Sure, there is more room to explore, and I'd certainly be excited as hell for a new Phantasm, but I'm also satisfied with the series as it is now.
