I'm sure this will be another thread torn to pieces in a matter of seconds, but I'm going to list a few things I'm looking for and maybe a few of you guys can help.

1) A Copy of "In Search of the Castaways" by Jules Verne for $10 or less

2) a child's training potty that makes the "flush" sound

feel free to offer your advice or list your own things you can't seem to find on the internet or in a B&M

Now it's just the Bazin! I've accomplished something meaningful today.

What line of work are you looking for, Ichi?

An original VHS tape of Sports Illustrated's Dazzling Dunks and Basketball Bloopers

A copy of the Shaq movie Steel

The original uncut versions of all the Friday the 13th movies

This one song that my local radio station played all the time back in the day (around 96 I believe) called the South Park Bounce, it was just this retarded technoish song with samples from South Park, and I think it was by a group/dj/whatever called "The Brooklyn Bounce". I just want to hear it once more to confirm that it does in fact exist.

Oh yeah - I need a DVD copy of Mark Hamill's SLIPSTREAM with the original awesome VHS art.

This is worth a shot, though I tried this in the music forum a couple of years ago with no luck. Once, when I was in college (this was probably '97 or '98), I heard a song on the radio with the refrain "I'm finding it easy to be cold and offensive/No trouble at all to be unreflexive." I've never heard it since, but I still find myself humming it.

A lot.

Anybody got any idea what song this is or who sings it?

Ticket Home by Jump Little Children?

There's a good chance that's it. I went to UGA, and Jump, Little Children played Athens all the time. If that's it, I owe you a debt, sir.

It's all about the lyric Googling...

I'd love to find a decent PKD (Blade Runner Pistol prop) that doesn't cost as much as my friggin' mortgage.

And a decent home gym that people actually have and use.

I hate ordering stuff like that from Amazon. It always tastes vaguely of ass and modeling glue. Speaking of which...

4) Modeling glue.

www.crossfit.com

Check out the archived workouts--there's tons of stuff you can do without a Bowflex. You'll find a long discussion in the FAQ about home gear too.

I don't know why... I'm going to guess, based on the copyright dates I've been finding on copies online, that it has been out of print for some time.

I did a little digging on WorldCat (which is a union catalog, or a library catalog of library catalogs) and it does appear that some libraries have this book, though not many. So here's what you want to do - most public libraries, especially a system as large as Durham County, should have an interlibrary loan program. You can visit (or call - 919-560-0100 is the main branch) the library, tell the reference librarian what you need (make sure to mention the Jules Verne bit - the Beat poet Hettie Jones has a book by the same title that is much easier to find), and they'll hunt it down for you. It may take a while, and you may not be able to keep it as long as you would a book from their collection, since the lending institution makes the rules, but you'll have your book and you'll have it for free.

I'm looking for one of those DC Direct Kryptonite displays with a dome in one piece.

Oh, and I don't want to pay over $200 for it.

I checked the university libraries around Durham (Duke, NCSU and UNC) and couldn't find anything. But--if you just want to read it, it's on line:

http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/2083

I looked at the plain text version here...

http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext00/cstwy11.txt

...and I think that you could read it without going mad.

I work in the rare and used book industry, and in addition to alibris, we also use bookfinder, addall, abebooks,
and new decent one: isbndb.com

I'm looking for this song from many years ago (at least 20?) that I heard back in college. All I have is a lyric, sung by a female:

"I'm not lookin' to change the world / I'm not lookin' for a new England..."

There was a version, sung by a male, but it was awful.

Barring that, a nice-as-possible Mego Capt. America (8 inch one, with a shield!) would work, too.

An "I, Claudius" poster.

The male was Billy Bragg. The woman who covered it was Kirsty MacColl.

Full cut of Naked Killer on DVD. Region 1 with English subtitles, preferred.

I want it all... as much of the movie and extras I can get my hands on (keeping it Region 1).

A song from '93 or so with the chorus:

Four horsemen are coming to destroy
First one is called pestilence
Second one is called war
Third one is called fever
That's the one I'm waiting for.

How to build your own home gym:

1. Buy running shoes.
2. Buy a couple of dumbbells. Start with a weight you can lift four times.
3. Put up on of those doorframe pullup bars.
4. Begin the burn.

It's by Ian Svenonius, but I don't know what band or what song it is, exactly.

"Grape Juice Plus", by Cupid Car Club.

Not to be a dick or anything, but I got that from a google search that took like two seconds. Don't post every song you can't remember in this thread, guys.
