Muscle guys get more sex... is this really a surprise? - Page 2

If I were American I'd be pretty pissed right now about my tax dollars (if that's where their funding comes from) going towards what amounts to having a big muscle guy kick sand in my face on the beach. Is this not the biggest waste of time and resources? Cancer ain't cured yet, and these guys are using charts and graphs and hyperbolas and shit to determine that chicks dig strong guys. I would not have guessed this on my own.

6'10"? That must be irritating as hell, living in a world built for us shorties. I hope the back holds out.

I have a friend who's about 6'8 or so, and he used to play football so he's pretty big all around. I used to call him "Lenny" when we were kids because he refused to take his ADHD medicine and would always go on rampages, breaking shit in my house. He's a doctor now.

Anyway, if I were 6'10, I'd strap a little person to my back and do a Master Blaster routine.

I am 6'1 and at 195 lb I have a 27 inch waist. I also have a really big head and I am short limbed. I am mostly torso. The only really bad thing is I am no longer 195 lbs

You must have the world's fattest legs. At 6'10'' and 205, I've got a 34 inch waist.

As for the world made for shorties...I lift my back pretty hard, so it should hold up. The real trouble is buying pants. I promise you guys that you do not envy me that. My options are the big and tall store (not viable for a 26-year old with ANY sense of style) or to hope against hope that I stumble upon a truly freakishly long pair of pants every once in a while.

I thought the first time you posted you were 6"10 that it was a typo. Holy crap! You are almost 2 feet taller than me (I'm 5'0").

I'm kind of a giant. But, I'm not really gangly or anything, so I always have people telling me that I'm lying about my height.

A friend of mine, who is 4'11", married a man who was 6'9". Not that this means anything, but your post reminded me of how people are always asking her, "how does that work?"

I've dated 5'1''. The answer: it's not too difficult. Obviously, there are some things that don't quite follow normal mechanics (like, uh...slow dancing), but in general, I think tall people are fairly blind to their height.

That's true enough. At a mutual friend's wedding reception, I remember them bringing out a chair for her to stand on (it was later when most of the casual guests had left and we were all a little tipsy) as they danced...

No at the time my good lag was 28 inches at the thigh, and my bad lag was 26 inches. My father who is 5'10 and has the same torso as I do had a 28 inch waist at 195, but he had thicker arms then I do. The men in my family are really strong.

Just in case you were curious, I was only being goofy. My family has wide waists, even though we're all skinny.

Wall my family has really small waist, and short limbs. To this day I tease my father about being a giant dwarf. He does look like a dwarf that is 5'10.

What? He should have just picked her up. I'm always climbing on my guy friends. They're like my jungle gym.

I know, me too. Love the geeks.

I do like guys who are toned and normal looking, but I've never really liked muscle guys all that much. I've dated a couple, but by and large, I prefer normal looking guys.

Skinny guys and fat guys (generally) have very little self confidence and don't even approach women, so the "study" is pretty skewed. They should have focused just on female preference using photographs or something, because body types are just one aspect of attractiveness. Male psychology also plays a large role.

Frederick and colleagues also asked 141 college women to look at six standardized silhouettes of men ranging from brawny to slender.
So, they did do that as part of the study... although one could argue that if guys in better shape are more confident (I don't know what the research says on this), that correlation may exist in women's minds when choosing from pictures or silhouettes, so that might not even remove the effect of that potential third variable.

It is also possible in the part of the study where they interviewed men, they may have tried to control for some of that... it is impossible to say without seeing the actual study.
