Up for a L.A. area gathering? - Page 2

Son of a bitch, what are the odds of that happening? *shrug*

You could go with the Century City AMC, 3-hour free parking and the food is okay. There's The Stand across the street.

(I work across the street from it, that's how I know)
Oh yeah, I forgot about Century City. That will work for me, too. I'm sure with 15 theaters that Superbad will be playing there.

Oh, and I'm seeing Stardust tonight at the Arclight in case anyone else is checking it out there, too.
I'm curious about Stardust, don't know if I'll go to the theater this weekend though. But I say why don't we set this thing up for the Century City AMC?
I called AMC Century City 15. They confirmed they will be showing Superbad. No other details yet.

I don't know where Century City is, but it's fine with me. Let's plan on movie first, food after.

What about the theater at The Grove? There's always the Burbank AMC as well.

Or maybe we can go to Orange County and harass Slater.
Well, The Grove was suggested but then it was mentioned how it would be jammed with people. Plus I figure Century City is easier for the folk who live around the city and the valley.

You unclean fuckers stay away from me.

And those of us in the boonies can go f' ourselves, as usual.
Didn't say that, but where would there be a location that would be perfect for everyone ya know?

On the Starship Enterprise, so we could all be beamed to a central location, of course.
Hmm, good point. I also suggest we could use the TARDIS to gather everyone up and then plant ourselves at the premier and save Jonah Hill from the Cybermen.
Century City's not too shabby of a venue. Especially since the new theaters are pretty tits. I'm in.

The Bridge has a Thursday midnight showing listed on Fandango. Presumably this means they will have it all weekend. And I know of no stinky feet smell there.
I'm late to the party, but I'm interested. I'm in Sherman Oaks, so anyplace is fairly close, either Century City, Arclight or AMC Burbank. I'd prefer Saturday, but Friday could work, too.
AMC Century City (stinky feet smell at no extra cost)
7:15pm, 8:15pm, 10:15pm, 10:45pm, 11:15pm, 12:50am

No Friday times for the Bridge yet, but here are a couple of others:
Pacific Culver Stadium 12
7:00pm, 8:00pm, 9:50pm, 10:50pm
AMC Burbank 16
8:30pm, 11:30pm
I say 8:15 for Century 15 and 8:30 for the Burbank 16. Those are my choices and I would think the foot odor problem would've been done away with by now.

However, if there are other theater selections. I'm open to those.
I'm closer to the AMC Burbank, so I would vote for 8:30 at Burbank. Either will do, however.
I'm OK with Burbank, but here is my nomination:
The Bridge:
Superbad (R) [DIRECTOR’S HALL;Reserved Seating] - 7:35 pm; 12:40 am. ;
Superbad (R) [OVER 21;Reserved Seating] - 10:20 pm. ;
Superbad (R) [DIGITAL] - 7:00; 9:40 pm; 12:20 am. ;

I'm a sucker for reserved seating.

I second The Bridge. Reserved seating would be lovely. I'm willing to put up the money to get the tickets in advance (to be reimbursed by attendees) in order to get us a block of good seats.
Ok! Well, back at post #37 we had Belethedheliel, EdHocken, Smilin' Jack Ruby, and myself (formerly ZappBrannigan) who were all in for a Saturday night showing. If EH & SJR find the Bridge acceptable, then I suggest we get tickets for the Saturday 7:35pm showing (there are a bunch of places nearby to eat at afterwards). If this is not ok, we should try to agree on an alternate time and/or place soon.

Assuming The Bridge is ok, if anyone else is interested (Ratty, Vader, harrybeanbag, etc.) we should set a cut off time to let Belethedheliel know if she is going to get a group of seats together.

What say you all?

And please, let me know if wives, friends, pets, whatever are coming along... I'd hate to get tickets for four and have 8 people show up!

Thanks!

So let's repeat:

7:35 Saturday, The Bridge
1. Tieman (+1?)
2. Belethedheliel
Yes, Tieman +1
Thanks!
Fuck, I'm stuck working every night this weekend, no possible way for me to even trade shifts.

Have some fuckin' fun for me at least.

Nice choice with the Bridge, by the way. No stinky feet smell indeed.
I'm out, unfortunately.
Fuck it, I'm in! Just myself though.
Goddamn it, I'm still 50/50. I have a wedding to attend on Sunday in Temecula so I need to find a way to leverage out this night with enough time to recuperate the next morning and drive down there.
Perhaps you could use this?

Get over it. I live about that far away, and I'm running a triathlon Saturday morning in San Diego, working Saturday afternoon in Riverside, then driving into the city for the film. Then driving home, and getting up the next day to... work again.
I can do The Bridge since it's a Saturday. Count me in. Just me, alas.
Recap (yes, I'm a bit OCD)

7:35 Saturday, The Bridge
1. Tieman +1
2. Belethedheliel
3. EdHocken
4. Ratty

On the fence
1. Vader

Out
1. Smilin' Jack Ruby (doh!)
2. TheThirdMan

I suggets we should set a cut off of sometime today (8pm?) to get tickets through Belethedheliel. Anyone after that can get tickets on their own.

Ok, I'm headed to the gym for a workout. When I get back, unless I hear otherwise, I'm getting 6 tickets:
Tieman + 1
Belethedheliel + 1 (or, I should say +/-1)
EdHocken
Ratty
Cool, let me the price so I can pay ya back as soon as I get there.

Ok, I got the tix. They're $15.50 each. Movietickets.com, though, sucks. I was going to print the tickets at home, so I could send y'all your tickets (fax, email of a scanned image, whatever) as well as bring originals, so there would be no risk of me getting a flat tire or something and y'all being stuck for tickets. But they wouldn't let me print at home due to 'multiple unredeemed purchases at this theatre." Since I've never been to the Bridge, that obviously isnt' the case, not to mention I'd think a theatre would be ok with someone paying for tickets they don't use. Oh, well, I'll try to get there early to be safe.

ETA: If anyone other than me hasn't been there before:
Take 405 S to Howard Hughes/Sepulveda, then Right onto Park Terrace and Left onto Center Dr.
Take 405 N to Howard Hughes, then Right onto Center Dr.
Great! I'll have $31 for you tomorrow.
FYI, parking is a flat $2 upon entry.
There are a number of places at The Bridge, including On the Border, Islands, Callender's Grill, Johnny Rockets, Jody Maroni's, and Rubio's.
Movie's at 7:35, and we don't have to worry about seats. Say we meet up at 7:00-7:15?
Agreed
7:00 sounds good. I'll be the guy with glasses. You can't miss me.
I think you should wear something else to pick you out.

Possibly socks.
We can meet upstairs outside the theater. There is a group of tables & chairs in the walkway area between Rubio's & Gamestop next to the theater entrance.

I'm the 6'2" white guy with the buzz cut and the shorter Filipino wife.

I know the area pretty well, so if any of you want, I can PM my cell # just in case.

You may have seen my glorious mug over at the Son of Chewervision thread but I'll probably do the sports jacket t-shirt deal.

I'm a 5'8" ETA: long, or as Devin like to call me, horse-faced redhead, and there are only so many of us, so I think I won't be too hard to spot.

I threw a picture up over in the Son of Chewervision thread.
Beware!
Is there a final head count? Bele said there was one possible ticket left so I'd like to know if I can still jump in.

Yes, still tickets left. I got an extra for you and my friend John has to work with leaves us with yet one more spare if anyone else wants to join. Otherwise, my purse will occupy the chair and avoid the sticky, kicked-over land that is a theatre floor.
Wonderful.
Sadly, it looks like I'm going to have to bail. I was out running errands in the heat today while my car was at the mechanics, and I think I gave myself a mild form of heatstroke. Not feeling so good right now, so, to be safe, I'm going to stay home tonight.

Beleth: send me a private message with your address and I'll pay you back for my leftover ticket. Enjoy the film. I'll be there in spirit.
