That video freaked the shitzle out of me.

Yeah. This video is better than most horror full-length features of the last 10 years.

Ah, the 80's....

I was, maybe, four when the video came out and my parents started watching it while flipping the channels...when MJ turned into a wearwolf, I couldn't take it and cried hysterically...it's still creppy as ish.

Anybody interested should check 'Michael Jackson's Ghosts'...its sort-of a sequel, was concieved by MJ with Stephen King, and came out in the late 90s. It is totally creepy and disturbing--with MJ playing a sort-of Dr Frankenstein role.

He lives in a magical mansion on the outskirts of a small town and, one night, the locals come to burn his place down--lead by a fat, white Mayor played by...Michael Jackson!

Never released in America, you can find it on torrents, etc. It addresses the child molestation charges and MJ's overall weirdness. And it is effed up on many, many levels.

Oh, god, Michael Jackson's Ghosts is truly fucked up. It's not really well-done or interesting, closer to Captain Eo than Thriller, but there are a whole lotta kids in that to illustrate Jackson's perceived martyrdom at the hands of people who would call him a pedophile.

I wonder if Landis saw a dime from this version:

Thriller - The Bollywood Version

Jackson' Thriller video was one of my 1st introductions to horror, so I hold it in high regard, nostalgicly speaking of course. Werewolf (or some sort of lycanthrope... werecat?), Vincent Price, dancing zombies? Awesome.

Oh, silly boy, he didn't turn into a werewolf. He turned into a werecat... that Jacko, always marching to the beat of another drummer.

Edited to Add: Damn your laser precision posting, Darkmite, damn it to hell. In other words, you beat me to it.

He completed the transformation by morphing into a black panther in his later Black or White video.

Guy's obsessed. At least it wasn't a were-chimp.

I remember being at my stepdad's parent's house in Indiana when this video premiered on NBC's Friday Night Videos. It was the first time I'd ever met my new grandparents, and the next thing you know, I was demanding that we watch this music video with zombies and a guy that turns into a werewolf. My new grandfather said, "What the hell was that all about?" when it was over.

Ahh, I stand corrected! Werekat, indeed.

Jackson actually has a lot of really interesting, and slightly perverse, imagery that runs throughout his videography. Smooth Criminal has a lot of the same visual tropes as these others...plus that weird ass voodoo dance sequence.

...but when I stop and THINK about it...

I'd enjoy it more if it was Jackson front and center.

Fixed... and naturally.

The part where they all grab the guy in drag really wasn't planned.

Well, "planned" is clearly relative.
