Christmas came early, folks! Telltale Games just announced today that the first episode of Back to the Future: The Game will hit this Wednesday for PC and Mac. The PSN and iPad will get it early 2011.
Entitled “It’s About Time”, it will pick up after the events of the third movie, where Doc has gone missing. You can still preorder through Telltale to get the series at a cheaper price, as well as a free copy of the excellent Puzzle Agent.
They’ve also just released this trailer that brings you up to speed (sorry) on the story behind the game, and the names of all of the upcoming episodes. Remember- this is only the first of five episodes, with one new episode almost every month afterwards.
Now while I’m a bit of a Telltale fanboy (I took advantage of their holiday sale to get a Tales from Monkey Island mug and a Sam and Max hat, which I will use and wear proudly) it’s hard to see how any fan of Back to the Future wouldn’t be ecstatic about this game. Story and humor is king for the company and it’s great to be getting new adventures from these much-loved characters in this form.

Fuck, no PSN till next year? I feel dicked around. First they said it wouldn't be onPSN till next year, then they said it would, now back to no.
comment #1 – I own a PS3 and am not very upset about not getting it first, granted I'd like it too for my beloved PS3, but considering that us console owners got spoiled rotten with the stupendous Red Dead Redemption plus its stellar halloween add-on pack, I consider this an even trade off. Besides, by the time it comes out for PS3, it'll probably be optional to buy it at a cheaper price.
Remember when you could walk into a Software Etc (aka Gamestop) and the walls would be lined with PC games? The console shit was located in some pity party bin of shame in the middle of the store. Kind of like where the PC games are now. Yeah, it's a damn shame you PS3 and 360 owners have to wait a little longer for a genre YOU made extinct because YOU would rather buy mindless 1st person shooters. Spare me! YOU EVER PLAY GRIM FANDANGO MOTHERFUCKER??? HUH??? HUH??? I'm kidding! I'm just glad to see action adventure games getting some attention again. Besides if you can't wait for this title, perhaps you should check out Sam and Max, Monkey Island, or just about any title in which Tim Schafer had creative input.
It's bloody great to see something so geek-centric and cool not coming out on the 360….just to rile up the fanboys on this site of course. Another win for PS3!
Or how about the fact that they'll eventually release all 5 episodes on a disc…. I mean, you know they're going to do that, right? I think I'll wait.
I'm curious to know HOW they explain the existence of the DeLorean…did the Doc somehow 'borrow' it between movie 2 and 3?

If the game picks up 6 month after the third movie where did Marty get the delorean if it was destroyed by the train
