So this game doesn't have a manual save feature? I played for a little bit last night, getting to the point where you get outside for the first time. It was late so I didn't want to play "defend the Batmobile" so I just dicked around for a few minutes looking for riddler statues and stuff. I quit the game and, on a hunch, jumped back in really quick to see if the game saved my discoveries. It didn't. Is it possible to save manually and I just missed it? How in the world are you supposed to finish up Riddler challenges after the story ends if there's no way to save?

That is one of the two reasons I gave up on the Riddler challenges. The inability to manually save and keep track of which challenges you completed (if you die, you basically have to guess at which ones the game saves, as it doesn't save after each challenge) makes it a chore.

The other reason is it made the game feel too video-gamey, as the challenges became completely inorganic and ridiculous after a while. For the inevitable sequel, I hope the integrate the challenges a bit more intelligently. One of the few gripes I had with an otherwise incredibly good game.

Haven't played it, but it looks smashing. A mate of mine completed it in a matter of days (he's a bit of a games whizz, you see).

I didn't even seriously start working on the Riddler stuff until I finished the story, so there was no dying going on. I never had a problem with the lack of manual save.

It didn't need a manual save - just autosaving every time you collected a riddle. It's something I noticed once or twice but it's hardly a deal breaker.

Yeah, I noticed the lack of a manual save myself (and believe I commented on it earlier). It was frustrating sometimes knowing when I wanted to quit I'd have to keep going until I saw the autosave icon in the corner.

Just enter or exit a building. That will cause it to autosave 99% of the time. At least it did for me.

I figured that'd be the case. I'm just so early in the game that just about everything is still locked down.

anyone have any tips on how to get more variety in my combo moves? I'm trying to nail the three-bat challenge to get my game to 100%.

Start with the bat-claw.

Yeah I usually started with bat-claw, did the cloak daze, then the back rollover before landing my first punch, just so I knew I'd done them in the combo. Then really keep punching and countering and use the throw, unblockable takedowns or rolling out of the way to get some distance when you need it. Oh and the triple batarang if they get too close. Leave the ground takedown till there's only 1 or 2 left, it's easier.

And make fear your ally.

Mix it up a bit, make mild anxiety your ally. Ask the thugs if they left the oven on. Did they? They're not sure. But maybe they did. Oh, and why don't they call their mothers more often?

Fuck, I scored 12680 in the third round alone in the sewer tunnel. Ground pounding three or four remaining thugs with a combo of 20+ and you're fucking looking REAL good. If I'm down to a few guys left and my combo is healthy, I whipped out a batarang to knock out all three and just jumped from one to another GP'ing them. Felt fucking great getting a score like that

BWAHAHAAHA

If that doesn't work, try to foster a pervasive, enervating sense of ennui.

I've three-batted all of the combat rooms, but my now I have a new question that has been leaving me confounded... In one of the Predator rooms, there is a trick where you need to "drop down" on someone using L2 and Triangle. Not to be confused with an inverted take down, and not to be confused with the glide kick. From which upper area can you do this? A stairwell? Anyone? Anyone?

All that really means is just dropping regularly instead of jumping, gliding, or inverted takedowns. If I remember correctly, I did it by hanging from a gargoyle and then dropping down from it when the guy walked underneath. I'm not sure what the PS3 button is, but on 360 you do that by hitting B instead of Y.

I wish more games had this pacing. You're never doing one thing too long.
