What’s amazing to me is that I see people who are fairly centrist or liberal falling for the Ron Paul bullshit just because he has made his opposition of the Iraq War a central point of his campaign. This guy’s a bad person, folks, all the way down the line – he’s against gay marriage, against privacy protections, for anti-sodomy laws. He’s against the gold standard, he was the sole vote against divesting US federal government investments in corporations doing business with the genocidal government of the Sudan. He is against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He wants to pull out of the UN and dismantle NATO. He wants to deny federal funding to any organisation which “which presents male or
female homosexuality as an acceptable alternative life style or which
suggest that it can be an acceptable life style.” That’s before we get into his really wackadoo shit, like believing New World Order conspiracy theories.

Solomon Arthur, Ron Paul is not against equality! To say so is to admit ignorance of his views and substance. From a Consititutional standpoint, the Civil Rights act was illegal. Now, one can argue whether the Constitiution needs to be amended, which is how you do things, but as it stands, it is unconstitutional. Has nothing to do with racism, has to do with freedom and making things the way the founders intended.

Good God almighty, he's against gay marriage? God FORBID anybody be against gay marriage. The thing is, he doesn't think the federal government should get involved in it one way or another. He thinks the states should decide on that. He also thinks that 'marriage' should be granted by churches really, and that the government really had no business in it to begin with.
And against the gold standard? Wow, actually, he's FOR the gold standard.
