I’m struggling to remember a Fall and Winter season jam-packed with so much potential awesomeness. A Hobbit, a Django and a license to kill.
After watching this new spot for Skyfall (in theatres 10/26) I’m starting to build hope that Javier Bardem’s antagonist Raoul Silva becomes the villain performance to savor from this new cycle of Bond films. A healthy foil is something Daniel Craig’s been definitively lacking in his turns; but Bardem looks to be walking that fine line between menacing terror and cheesy Die Hard villain. I mean that in the most optimistic of ways:

Of course a new Bond film- written by John Logan, directed by Sam Mendes and shoot by Roger Deakins( none the less)- gets less of a benefit of a doubt then any number of cheesy, blockbusters( like the latest Marvel outing or Schwarzannegger film)…do you not see what is wrong with that picture?
The goddamn movie looks goddamn great. Unreasonably pumped.
