A new issue of Entertainment Weekly brings us a couple of new pictures from the trifecta of Superhero sequels and reboots breaking out in 2013.
These come from the iPad version of the issue, so you’ll have to bear with the tap graphics. Still, a nicer look at a key image we’ve seen from Man Of Steel, a nice shot of Hugh Jackman seemingly in a scene (all the imagery so far has been super promo, that I’ve seen) and another of those always great Iron Man shots in which a pretty lady interacts with a big sillyawesome suit.

I’m not loving the color scheme of the armor in the Iron Man 3 pic…..but, I have high faith in Shane Black.
I’m looking forward to all of these – a well done Wolverine adventure could be quite good. I’m curious how much of Frank Miller’s source material they’ll actually attempt to bring into the film – slicing up ninjas was/is very 80’s.
I’m only interested in Man of Steel despite me thinking Zack Snyder has an amazing ability to make action packed stories and visuals boring as shit. I guess we haven’t had the moody dark emo Superman flick yet, but luckily the movie ends with big CGI robots knocking down buildings, I haven’t really seen anything like that in a movie yet so this will be exciting!
Wolverine could be promising but I doubt it, Hugh Jackman is not Wolverine to me and no movie so far featuring the character has been memorable. I am sure they will find a way to make it suck.
Fuck Iron Man.
Man, you just cannot go right with the costume, can you? Do it one way and offend the aesthetic sensibilities of the non-fanboys; do it the other way and offend the more purist fanboys. Personally, I think the new color scheme tries to honor the older Iron Man comics (red and gold) – and I think it does that well.
Given what we know about Iron Man 3, I get the sneaking suspicion that Pepper is embracing someone she only thinks is Tony Stark in the last picture there. I know the caption says “Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow”, but would anyone at Entertainment Weekly be in on such secrets? I tend to doubt it.
Regardless of who’s in that suit, I’m looking forward to more Iron Man antics, they’ve been pretty damn entertaining so far. And this is coming from someone who facepalmed hard when the actor playing the title character was announced.
I don’t think anyone will ever do Wolverine justice in a theatrically-released live-action film, because to do so would require not an exorbitant budget, but a film studio completely unafraid of cranking out a movie as violent and disturbing as a true Wolverine flick deserves to be. That said, I can’t say no to the chance to see a guy with unbreakable claws fight a modern-day mutant samurai. How many others am I going to get, really?
As for Man Of Steel, that just may be the film I’m most looking forward to this year, other than The Hobbit sequel. I can’t really explain it, but I just have a really good feeling about it. Maybe I want a good Superman movie so bad it’s made me delusional? I don’t know.
I don’t understand the need to change superheroes’ suit with every new movie. I mean, I get it — they want to sell new toys, but they could make each generation of action figures with new accessories, or film-specific damage, or whatever. I know I’m a little anal, but I just see no reason for dozens of versions of these things. Switch it up when you reboot the franchise, fine, but in between every installment?

Hugh Jackman is not Wolverine? Amen. All my friends think I’m crazt because i keep telling them he sucks as Logan. I argue that the fact that Jackman doesnt seem like he could kick your ass. My ass, the audiences ass…anyone’s ass. He’s the Boy From Oz for godsakes. Le Mis is more his speed. For an actor to do Wolvey right, he needs that edge…the demeanor that demands respect and attention, but Jackman is a nice guy and makes for a family friendly Wolverine that kinda blows. Of course we wont see another actor take on the role for a while as Jackman is a diehard fan and producing the movies, but who would you cast? Everyone says Glen Danzig, which would be cool, but we dont know if the guy could act and Im betting he cant.
Wanna hear my dream cast? Jeffery Dean Morgan. If this guy played Wolverine in a reboot, he would kill it. After watching the Watchmen, i thought his take on the comedian was colser to Wolverine than anything Jackman ever attempted. Should this be a new thread? Who can play Logan? Start a petition? Anyone?
