Not much context to give you on this one: the big, bad Tony Scott (rest his soul) action movie about sexually ambiguous fighter pilots that took the box office to the sky in 1986 is back!
The IMAX 3D rerelease will put the Tom Cruise star-making hit back in theaters from February 8th to the 13th, followed by a Blu-ray release on the 19th.

Awesome Archer reference! I love it!
Goose getting smashed into the cockpit in glorious 3D?
Even though I’m a child of the 80’s and enjoyed this film when it came out, I don’t ever see a theater being more than a quarter full (at best). 3D is often annoying as it is, 3D post conversion is usually horrible. Overall, seems like an odd choice, and mostly a test case to see if greenlighting an actual Top Gun sequel would be viable.
Criminy but there are many a movie from the same period (pick any year from cinema history, really) that claim to define a generation.
I would rather see Hot Shots in Imax 3D
