I’d fucking love that on my wall.
I hope this is the Iron Man movie that we both need and deserve.
Tell me I’m not the only one who thought the image in the box up top was for a new Breaking Bad promo. Even though I know it’s the Mandarin, it still looks like Walter White to me!
Personally, I don’t like it. I simply don’t like the casting of Ben Kingsley.
His VO in that first trailer sold me 100%.
He’s certainly not my first choice to play the character, but I think he’ll bring the goods.
This makes the movie look even stupider and shows again the decline of this site. In years gone by intellectual assesments of small films and big movies where had…now all that there is are endless pro-marvel and pro-blockbuster nonsense that frankly makes me long for the days when more nuanced analysis was have…I truly only come on the site for mod, the VHS column and franchise me…the day to day stuff like this is nuasating. The move looks like shit and probably will be.

Exactly my thoughts! I’d say they should have cast Bryan Cranston as Mandarin, but then again I think they should cast Bryan Cranston as most things.

Funny, just a couple days ago we had a “long-time reader” leave in a huff because the site had become too negative and “bitter.” Now it turns out it’s also become too blindly positive and enthusiastic. Can’t please everyone, I guess.

For fucks sake just don’t have an opinion on anything ever. Big H movies are smooth running machines now that know enough to be satisfying on a spectacle level and how to deliver a bit of story in the process. No matter your critique on Ingmar Bergman it doesn’t apply to stuff like Iron Man 3. Big H has it down to a science on how to make these movies and even to my cinema snobbish impossible to please self they’re tolerable movies (at this point, only recently, after reluctantly trying). Maybe the old art of cinema will rise again, I doubt it, but possibly, the old rules of judgement don’t apply to big smooth functioning product. But I do agree, shit posts like this are pretty much Ain’t It Cool News, I don’t drool on studio dick that much so it’s whatever, I haven’t seen Iron Man 2 yet, I can wait til this is in the 5 dollar bin at the dollar store.
