The next month is going to slip by before you know it, and JJ’s second Star Trek film will be upon us. With the identity of the villain above pretty much out of the bag and plenty of footage to go on, I think everyone pretty much know where they stand with the film at this point.
Empire went deep with the film for their latest issue though, featuring a big pull-out cover with the full cast, and letting loose the ton of stills you’ll find below. Most of them look new and there are a lot of cool details- the production design people get mad props one way or another!

Is it scientifically possible for Earth to fall? Have we become a united planet when this takes place, all countries desolved into the monolith of EARTH? Technically, like the moon, the Earth is always “falling” as it rotates around the Sun, so isn’t Earth constantly falling?
I’m sure that damage to the Enterprise will just buff right out. No need to get the insurance companies involved. Plus, it’s got alot of miles on it. Warp speed miles, but still…
Star Trek. A galaxy of infinite story possibilities. Countless species, planets and scenarios. And the poster is preoccupied with EARTH. And a HUMAN antagonist. Sigh.
Heh…yeah. Although it’s been plain to anyone apart from angry nerds whining about spaceships underwater that the big E is toast in this film and that she’s going to end up as a man-made reef as a result.
I think it’s refreshing. Star Trek’s aliens are always just riffs on various human traits anyway – greed, violence, paranoia, religion, etc.
