The two final Iron Man posters are upon us, and while I won’t say either of them are bad, I do feel like this is the first time Paramount’s marketing has let this movie down. The posters are both old-fashioned collages, and while they’re laid out in a pleasing way, neither is particularly dynamic. And on the international version, Jeff Bridges looks like he’s playing Mini Me.
Without further ado, here are the two posters – the top one is the international, the bottom is domestic.

Whilst neither of them are bad, like you say, neither of them are attention grabbing, either. Generic Superhero Poster #325 Although, the international one is slight.. um.. worse?
It sort of reminds me of the Ghost Rider poster from last year, in that it really, REALLY should have been just a money shot of the character letting loose, or at least having something like that being the main visual, maybe with other stuff going on around it. Gwyneth ("What's in the BOX?!?") Paltrow is really just taking up space, valuable real estate that could be used to show more of the "Blow shit up" suit (I think that's what Devin might've called it here a little while back) in action. You don't really need her or a head shot of Jeff Bridges to sell Iron Man to anyone that wasn't going to see it before. While neither of the posters is what I would have imagined for a movie like this, I do think that the international one is a little better, if only because it's a little busier.
They look a little too much like the Star Wars prequel posters, and I don't like how it kinda looks like the title is "IronMan" (one word in camel case). But the movie's looking good so who cares.
The Dude looks PISSED in that US poster.
I am particularly fond of Gwyneth's exploding vagina in the first poster.
Bridges looks BADASS.
It's better than just a bunch of floating heads (floating heads and torsos), but it really looked like it wanted to be painted instead of photo manipulated. Almost as if it was the layout for the painter to use, and then they ran out of time.
I love the composition of the images, but if you're going to go for the 'Star Wars' look, might as well go all the way.
Has there ever been such a stellar cast for a superhero flick? Only Gwyneth Paltrow stands out as off-if only because of her disasterous turn in "Sky Captain". Can't wait for this!
Why not have a shot of two bathroom stalls. One of Iron Man's calmly reliving some fluids before his filet mignon arrives at the table, and in the other stall some faux-British looking guy in a tux stealing a glance at his metal hose, mouth agape? Definitley would give the indication that A. Iron Man has a HUGE cock B. He is definitely going to run into some mischief running around society in a metal suit. C. He can hang with the rich(because he filthy fucking rich), but he ain't going to conform to their high societly snarky attitude. He does his own thing… With a huge metal COCK!
The US poster has a classy feel to it. Not amazing, but not terrible. I get a Rocketeer vibe from it. I don't know even know why because the posters weren't similar were they?
Christian Bale, Liam Neeson, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Tom Wilkinson and Gary Oldman is not a stellar cast? Idiot.
Saw the US poster at the theater today. It's a nice poster. Very classy but not mindblowing. If they used the flying Iron Man to seperate the images, it would give the poster a little more flare. Felt that was a missed opportunity.
There have been a lot of stellar super hero casts. The original SUPER MAN comes to mind. But I also agree this one is especially cool. And the posters are alright, a bit meh. They should have gone old school and classy.
