The fact that Paul Greengrass is directing an Iraq war film was enough to create a good amount of eager anticipation for said film, and the leading cast members that have been announced have done nothing but raise the anticipation level. So far we’ve been told that Matt Damon, Jason Isaacs, Amy Ryan and Greg Kinnear will star in the flick. Now the final piece is in place, and it’s a selection that perfectly complements the high quality of the previously-announced cast members.
As you probably guessed from the title of this article (which renders moot my dramatic posturing in the previous paragraph), Brendan Gleeson will be taking on what Variety calls “the final lead role” in Greengrass’s still-untitled project. This is inspired by (a more accurate descriptor than than “based on”) Rajiv Chandrasekaran’s Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Baghdad’s Green Zone. The Irish Gleeson will play an American soldier. He’s Brendan fucking Gleeson, though, so it’s not like there’s anything to worry about there.
The film has been in production in Spain for a couple months now. Presumably, Gleeson and Isaacs (whose involvement was announced last week) will be brought in when production moves down to Morocco.

Why continue to read the man's articles if they bother you so much? I mean, I'm fairly sure there's other websites you can go to to pointlessly complain about things you can't control and have no bearing on. Why not go there?
That said, I have no issues with Phil's writing at all. Nick and company don't seem to either. Get off the dude's nuts.
(Also, this movie's cast is pretty damn good. Greengrass' streak of amazing looks to continue.)
I did not like this article. I did not feel it was very, well written (or interesting). I am concerned. I know quality is important. I know a brand name means something. I would like to see Owen get better. I hope he's trying. I hope he put aside his video games, and read that book Mr. Dellamorte suggested some time back. Yes, I hope he gets better for the sake of the site, staff, and it's loyal readers. I hope it's soon, for all of us. You can do it, Owen!
Nicholas. You're name is really Phil Owen, isn't it? Only Phil would post a reactionary comment, before any reactions were actually posted. That's SO Phil!
No matter what he does next-I'll be a Paul Greengrass fan for life!
I love that the people who are complaining about Phil don't even know how to string together a grammatically correct paragraph.
Tsk, tsk, RCA. Poor sweet, little Owen needs support and encouragement. He has, I'm sure, humbly expressed a desire to contribute, best of his ability, to the betterment of the site. Just hasn't found a way to do it interestingly or with humour. Huh. At least he hasnt posted Facebook pictures of girls he didn't like on messageboards to be made fun of…now that would be creepy!!!. Oh, wait. Nevermind. Oops!
Fuck it!
Don't stop believing!!!!!!
I know it's the most famous, but i'm kind of sad you chose a Mad-Eye picture when he's had such awesome roles in THE GENERAL, GANGS OF NEW YORK, and currently in the fuckin' brilliant IN BRUGES.
How is Phil Owen's writing style all that different than any other writer for a movie website? I can only pick out Faraci's posts without looking to see who wrote the damn things. These talkbacks need to fucking go. They only stengthen my hatred for the internet.
Leave me alone!
Jason Isaacs+Texas Drawl=Film Gold!
Devin's can be spotted by unecessary snark, reference to his filmic or knowledge in general and reference to his intelligence.
" I did not feel it was very, well written (or interesting). "
Comedy gold.
