The remake of CHUD has been kicking around for a while now, but it looks like some real momentum is happening. Someone sent us sides from the script that are being used to audition actors, and the title on the pages is Urban Decay – but the action on the pages themselves features lots of glowing eyed, neon blooded CHUDs.
Shock Til You Drop also got their hands on the pages, and they’ve tracked down the writers on the film: Ian Malone and Andrew Goring. I don’t know if either of these guys have ever been anywhere near New York City, but the pages that I’ve read indicate they’ve never been in a subway train – they have a bum plunging a knife through the ceiling of a subway car to kill CHUDs. I’d like to see someone try that in real life.
Meanwhile I’m still waiting for my call from the producers. Come on, guys, think about the extra added value of having the guys from CHUD be in CHUD!

Bakula was hilarious on American Body Shop
Damn! I thought this was about a reconcilliation with the XTRO guys. we miss you Dan Whitehead & dave davis!
Fucking Rob Zombie isn't still attached to this? Is he?
Those producers are sure to take you up on that idea… you could easily pass for a homeless man, AND they would save on wardrobe costs.
Wonderful, I can add CGI'd Chuds to my list of things to look forward to. By the way, you guys need to fix your verification code thing, as it won't let me post in your You Got It All Wrong column.
Man, that Day of the Dead remake dvd cover looks like a a pile of shit.
Yes, we demand more subway realism in our movies about radioactive mutated hobos eating people.
Munch, I hate that use of sarcasm. Is it meant to shut down Devin's criticism? Just because the premise of the movie is farfetched doesn't mean that the filmmakers should throw their hands in the air about other things being real. If it's set in New York rather than any place else, why not make it really feel like New York?
It's got nothing to do with it "feeling like New York". It's a remake of CHUD, for fuck's sake. As if a character being able to shove a knife through the roof of a subway car is going to be a dealbreaker. It's like bitching about an action movie hero being able to jump through a window without being cut to shreds.
"Man, that Day of the Dead remake dvd cover looks like a a pile of shit. " Yeah it looks like something that happens in Phil Owen's basement….
And then we could have a subplot featuring Dave Davis trying to get into some tween's pants!
I shiver in antici………………..pation.
