One of the things I’ve liked about Watchmen over the years is that it hasn’t been insanely commercialized, thanks to Alan Moore’s lack of interest in merch. That’s all about to end as DC Direct has premiered the images of the first two figures from the Zack Snyder adaptation of the seminal comic book in the latest Entertainment Weekly.
The Rorschach figure looks pretty cool, but the Nite Owl… Well, let’s just say that people who have seen the costume in person and in action might feel that while this figure is technically representative, it doesn’t quite capture the feel of the character.
In the meantime… if you’re a regular CHUD reader and come across something like this while clicking about the web, how about dropping us a line instead of just posting it on the message board? That makes you seem like a dick.

The Snow Owl get-up really nailed the satire that is the Nite Owl. He's basically the over-accessorized 60s Batman played straight.

Besides, I bet there's been times (I know it's been this way for me) that someone DOES sent you a heads up… and no story shows up for a day or two.. or ever. I get you get to make editorial choices as to what's on the main page, but if a fucker sends stuff a few times and nothing ever shows up… (and it may eventually show up, on another site) why bother doing it the next time?

If some one avoided the article where the costumes were revealed because they didn't want to see the costumes yet, though saw the images during a casual trip through the forums, well, they'd be bummed. He isn't pissed that you stole "his news", but because some people try to avoid spoilers. At least their headline could clue you in to what might be seen, so if you chose to avoid it you could. Chud has a long history of getting pissy with readers who share newsworthy stories on the forum and have the gall to not allow the sites writers to pretend they found it first. Out of all the movie sites, Chuds distaste for its own customers oozes from almost every page and post – especially from Devin. Is it any wonder the site atrracts so many trolls when regular readers are made to feel like ungrateful dicks if they fail to kowtow to Nick and Devin's pissy little demands?
I still remember the time Devin posted that article about how he passed on the great idea of Jackie Earle Haley playing Rorschach and his idea pretty much cast him with no mention of the Chud board poster who gave Devin the idea in the first place.

There was a comment on here earlier – now magically removed – which asked why a full-time movie journalist living in LA needs his readers to tip him off when something newsworthy appears in Entertainment Weekly. you know, i've been reading this site for years now, i come here every day several times, and ive never understood the devin hate, or at least when ive disagreed with devin i havent been adament enough to go for childish jabs like "fatty" and the like.
