I remember at age 12 or 13 or so and hearing about succubi and thinking that they sounded like just about the best thing I’d ever heard of. Mind you, I was pretty much the target demographic for Vampirella or whatever random trashy horror comic I found them in, so clearly the marketing guys knew what they were doing.
As an aside, the scariest horror comic I ever read involved a giant squid in a swamp, a man letting his friend get eaten by it so he could mack on the poor bastard’s wife, and then tentacles coming out of any nearby source of water to claim revenge on the betraying compadre. God knows what a psychiatrist (psychologist?) would make out of that…
