A site called INFDaily (Via Latino Review) has the first behind the scenes pictures of Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland, featuring your first look at the new Alice, Mia Wasikowska.
The pictures aren’t exactly earth-shattering, but they do confirm that Alice is dressed in blue, I guess. Are there Alice in Wonderland fanboys who get concerned about stuff like that? I’m much more interested in seeing what Burton’s version of Wonderland is going to be like, and what his usual cast of collaborators will look like down up in Lewis Carroll drag, and how much of that will be CGI.
In the meantime, you can take a look at more Mia Wasikowska in I Love Sarah Jane, the runner up in this year’s Fantastic Fest Horror Shorts category. She plays Sarah Jane (the only female in the short, so you would have figured that out on your own).

Regarding the article, the girl looks nice. But yeah, i'm much more interested in the art direction.
I'm glad to hear that Nick is FINALLY apologizing for interviewing Guillermo del Toro under the guise of a neutral journalist when, in fact, they were in the midst of several business transactions.
A "neutral" journalist? Who gives a shit when it's about moviemaking? Like we need hard-hitting questions about movies? That's not "journalism," dude.
What would really surprise me would be if Burton made this an R-rated adventure. Not that it would need to be, but so he could say he made the film he's always wanted.
This is going to make a very very boring movie. Has anyone actually ever had fun watching an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland? If it sticks close to the source then it'll be a collection of foppish nonsensical adventures only entertaining the very young and the very high.
…but maybe it'll look pretty.

I really REALLY hope burton goes slightly against type here. Its so frustrating that it feels as though he's devolved into a one trick pony. I do not give him any of the credit for making Fleet St any good. He took a good play, good actors, and gothed it up…
