Fresh off of his tours of duty with Benecio Del Toro on the Che double feature: The Argentine and Guerrilla, Steven Soderbergh’s ship is in port and naturally, he’s looking for some tail.  And who better than a professional?  As Variety reports, Soderbergh has tapped porn star Sasha Grey for his upcoming The Girlfriend Experience.  Seems as though the Traffic director wanted some realism in this low-budget feature, which centers on the life of a high-priced call girl.  At press time Ashley Alexandra Dupre was unavailable for comment. 

Experience is part of Soderbergh’s six picture deal with Dallas Maverick’s owner Mark Cuban and was written by Ocean’s 13 writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien and will be distributed under Magnolia Pictures.

Checking out Ms. Grey’s Wikipedia page, it seems that she’s slightly more cerebral than your average adult film star (although reportedly Jenna Jameson’s Mensa application is pending).  She lists Bertolucci and Godard as some of her favorite filmmakers and was formerly a member of Actors Theatre of Sacramento.  Girlfriend will be the latest in a string of legit roles she’s putting together for the new year, having appeared in the excellently-monickered Dick Rude’s’s Quit and horror film Smash Cut.  She is also the youngest ever recipient for the Adult Video News (AVN) Female Performer of the Year and was the Penthouse Pet of the Month for July 2007.
