It’s not as good as getting the 25-minute preview, or the full test screening experience, but here’s the new Watchmen trailer, which debuted last night on Spike’s 2008 Scream Awards. Though the basic structure is similar to the current trailer, you’ll catch a lot of the shots we saw at Comic Con (Nite Owl and Silk Spectre kissing in front of a mushroom cloud being one big one) and some new stuff, as well, like the shot of Dr. Manhattan disassembling a tank in air.
YouTube only for now, I’m afraid, but as soon as a better version is online we’ll update. (i09 has a slightly better version too.)

Wasn't that smashing pumpkins song used for Batman & Robin…and isn't it terrible? Made that whole spot of footage come off hokey.

So far these trailers have all been music videos for that Smashing Pumpkins songs.
At the risk of sounding fanboyish, I literally almost cried when I saw the button falling. I still like that song. Don't think it sounds hokey at all.
Besides the cheapo cgi at times, I liked it. I also hope it contains a strong story and isn't just one big videogame like 300.
yeaaaa new footage to obses over. Everything looks perfect and while I'm a little surprised at using the song again it still works so well with the mood of the clips.
That Smashing Pumpkins song is really good, and lyrically it sorta fits with Watchmen, without too much of a stretch.

I'm worried that Snyder is too into making Watchmen 'cool', espcially since, in interviews, he seems to use the word 'cool' in every sentence he speaks.
I agree with sod. what the hell does Zack Snyder have against 24 frames per second? I mean, I like stylish slo-mo as much as the next guy, but this i just silly.
Silk Spectre's head is too large for her body. Get the CGI boys onto it, proto!!
very nice. Pleased to see the 'Veidt I am very dissapointed in you' bit in it which is my fave bit of the novel.
Rorschach rappelling onto the balcony looks beautiful in motion. Many of these scenes just look beautiful in motion, as opposed to the static images we've had for over two decades.
The speed up/downslow effect is one of the best ways i've seen to make a movie look like a comic book-and gives you a bit of the advantage of a comic, the ability to admire each frame of the story. Snyder is very good at it. And yeah, somebody should shrink Silk Spectre's head!
Don't defend speed ramping. It only works with overtly stylized movies or ads. It doesn't belong in Watchmen. Zak shouldn't have carried over this gimmick from 300. + Manhattan looks like cheap cgi shit 50% of the time. People seem to be in denial about this. Hopefully it will be up to scratch come release date. Right now: Watchmen CGI = not good.

I'll defend speed ramping. And I reckon it'll work in this context too. What I don't get, is people who judge cgi quality based on youtube footage.
manhattan = bad cgi? your stupid. First of all, can you create anything better? Second, realism is BLUE MAN GROUP and I like what we are getting much better.
