Nice. That’s the first real teaser poster for Watchmen, the movie event of 2009 (at least I’m becoming more and more convinced that this is the case).
While not quite a panel from the first issue of the comic, it’s pretty damn close, and I really appreciate how it retains the look of the book’s logo. What I’m not as sold on is the tagline, but this is a teaser… maybe we’ll get something a little better in the eventual real poster?
In the meantime, I’m wondering if we’ll see the return of those character posters that appeared at Comic Con and nowhere else so far.

I'm presuming that you only got this news as soon as you did BECAUSE you saw the news in the Watchmen thread. So now you've banned the person who posted it for the crime of not PROPERLY doing so via the "Scoop" button on the main site. So what happens to the next scoop that person sees? Do you think after being banned he'll post it to your "Scoop" link, or just not post it at all? Or maybe head over to AICN's Forums or Talkbacks and post it there, where they don't ban people for posting news on their site, where they can become aware of it, even if it isn't via their official Emails. Nice going, Devin. Way to make your site unfriendlier and douchier, and guarantee less news will come your way, and less hits will be generated for your advertisers.
BTW, I am not "Yomad". I first started visiting the site because of the incredible "You got it all wrong" lists, but am finding that it's generally a bitchier place to hang out on.

Looks good to me. Glad it's not a slavish pixel-by-pixel recreation of the comic. That's what I'm hoping for in this movie. Frame it like the original, but let it have a life of its own. A true adaptation with its roots in homage.

Who cares if the fucking squid is in it or not? For me that was quite a big letdown in the novel. Having teased myself stupid about the possible ending of the movie I think it's actually better and ties in the final actions of Doc M. Bit dissapointed about the apparent lack of final 'twist' but maybe it's an end credits thing. But seriously, fuck the squid. There is no way to put that in a movie without making it look lame lame lame.
Aah, Chud. The only movie site that punishes its readers for talking about movie news and then whines that there's not enough discussion of movie news. If a story is being covered by other websites then why the fuck should readers have to wait for Devin's permission before discussing it?
I'm glad to see that even the poster is in slow motion. All movies should be filmed in slow motion. Except for the action scenes, which should be in fast motion. I'd love to see "Dirty Harry" remade in nothing but alternating slo-mo, fast-mo, including slo-mo and fast-mo speech – and "Zach" Snyder would be just the man for the job!

Yeah, there was a forum thread about Kevin Smith's weight gain, and Devin dropped in to whine about people posting more about that than any main news. This poster looks like an XBox 360 game and the tagline is like something you'd see on a DTV thriller starring Treach and the guy's leg looks like that of a woman and this movie is extraneous because it's already a perfectly good comic and where is it written that something isn't REALLY successful until it's made into a movie, but I guess I hope it's good so this Devin person can enjoy it, because you're all being very mean to him.
