just beautiful
Goddamn,I can't remember the last time I was as moved by a trailer as I was with this one. Amazing.
Doesn't look like there is going to be enough action. I hope that final fight is a doozy!
This is an amazing trailer. I enjoy Aronofsky's work and Rourke as well, but there is just something about this that is causing me to swell up with tears right now. I've been a wrestling fan off and on my whole life, it's big in NE PA. This just looks great. Seems like the role of a lifetime for Mickey. My ass will be in a seat day 1, hopefully.
Mickey Rourke's face is distracting. Cher could play Rourke's character in some horrible MTV awards spoof later on. Otherwise, great trailer. That shot of him on the ropes crying was really great.
I watched this with the sound off (as I do with every trailer), and played some Tom Waits over it. Try it.
Seen the film at the CIFF. Loved it. CHUD still blows.
When he tells his daughter he just doesn't want her to hate him, and he sheds that single tear, goddamn, I got all misty-eyed. Looks great.
The audience wants to see a man wrestle in the ring, not wrestle with his soul. But this movie has tons of both and it's really fucking good!
looks like it'll be a really good movie with a powerful performance, but the trailer didn't make me "shed a tear" like so many others claim to have done. 😐
nic cage – eat your -fucking- heart out !
Alot of gays like wrestling.
Mickey Rourke still exists? No way, that must be kayfabe.
So it's like Rocky Balboa then, but with Mickey Rourke playing Stallone playing a wrestler. I'll buy it, looks good stuff.
If you sift around in the sand long enough, eventually you find gold. It's movies like this that make all the sifting worth it.
FUCK YEP!
Decent trailer and all, but how can Mr. Faraci say that "The Soloist" is obvious Oscar bait and this isn't? The trailer for "The Wrestler" (Loved by Faraci) was just as, if not more, manipulative as the trailer for "The Soloist" (Hated by Faraci). I think his love for Aronofsky is blinding him a bit on this one.
Looks good and all, but why is everyone crying over this trailer? It wasn't THAT good.
@Nathan: you always were a fucking idiot. Can't even read a byline properly.
