About a half a year ago I got an email from someone bragging up a blacksploitation revival/homage/satire with Michael Jai White and I deleted it, assuming it was just another shitty marketing email for the next useless DTV waste of time.
I WAS WRONG.
My good buddy Shawn sent a link to the official website for Black Dynamite, a film I should hate on principle since it’s a modern day film trying to ape an older film with Michael Jai White as the lead. The lead. Not the “third thug on the left”.
Well, apparently I’m the asshole because Michael Jai White is hilarious in this trailer and there’s no denying his physical tools.
Here’s the plot from the site, based on the story by White, writer/director Scott Sanders, and Byron Minns:
This is the story of 1970’s action legend Black Dynamite. When “The
Man” murders his brother, pumps heroin into local orphanages, and
floods the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor, Black Dynamite is the
one hero willing to fight all the way from the blood-soaked city
streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.

Although, it is good enough it should be reposted by all the members of Chud on a daily basis until the film is released.
Um, yeah, seriously, what That Guy said. Not only was this posted, I believe it was updated, too. Now CHUD isn't just overhyping movies, they're overhyping movies they haven't seen based on trailers.
Pretty soon they'll be predicting the best movie of 2011 based on a spec script that a friend saw and swore was amazing.
Lyt, kindly shutup. I see nothing overhyping the movie, but I do see much praise for a trailer that is visibly above-par and incredibly hilarious. There's massive hype for a trailer. That everyone can see.

Wow, for a "news" site, y'all need to get your shit together. If the owner of the site doesn't even know what's getting posted to it but its contributors (read: his employees), then what assurances do we have as readers that anything here is accurate or trustworthy?
I'm just disappointed that both articles were accurate, in that they said the same thing. CHUD needs more diversity in their repeat articles, so its constituents (read: us asshole internet geek types) can complain more about the content of the website, instead of the apparent awesome that is Black Dynamite. yeah oh yeah! People calling this lame has got no sense of vision. t'looks a lot more lively than Grindhouse too, and even more authentically 70ies. White is awesome in the role, always thought he deserved more attention.
