The upcoming expansion pack for Halo 3 had a pretty decent title, right? For a game in while you play as a soldier in Recon armor, Halo 3: Recon is pretty short and succinct, right?
Guess not. It’s been renamed-
Here is where you might be asking “What the fuck is ODST?” if you aren’t familiar with Halo‘s deep and layered mythology. Why they’re the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, of course.
You play as a new hero and follow your team as you drop into “the ruined city of New Mombasa, looking for clues behind the Covenant’s catastrophic attack on the city.” It will feature the same addictive multiplayer and allow for integration with the Forge map editor.
But just remember, it’s not coming out till next Fall. Will people still care?

It needed changing, but they should have just dropped the 3.
Halo : Recon is a solid, somewhat meaningful, title.
ODST is a ridiculous "title" meaningless to all but a few fanboys and when most people see it on a box will think its gibberish and think the game is just Halo 3.

Will people still care? No. I dont even have anyone on my friends list who even still plays halo. When there are so many other better choices, why bother?
I'll try to do this more politely this time: the character is not wearing Recon armor. It's an ODST wearing ODST armor. Sure, "Recon" makes a lot more sense to most as a term and as what the character is doing. Unfortunately Bungie went and made some infamous armor that shares that name. For Halo nerds the name change makes perfect sense. For normal people, not so much.
They should have gone with Halo:More of the Same Shit
