I am annoyed. I am aggravated. One of the most annoying things about the internet is that everyone can choose a name to hide behind. For instance on yesterday’s blog there are two comments one from Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx, the other from Andrew “Dice” Clay. While I would be flattered to have celebrity hecklers, somehow I doubt my petty little blog enters their radar.
Why do people feel compelled to use another person’s name when posting on the internet? Basically I think for two reasons; first to sound more important than they are and secondly to remain anonymous. The importance issue is self explanatory, the anonymity on the other hand needs to be dealt with.
If you think you know something you need to share with the world, fucking pen your name to it. The sniveling, booger eating trolls that want to snipe from behind someone else’s name should be dragged into the light and beaten soundly. Everyone that writes here has the courage to use their own name and even their own picture, if you want to be taken seriously in your criticism you should do the same. If you are afraid of someone reading your comments and being upset with you, don’t post it. I’m sick and tired of all of the piss-ant comments from a bunch of cowards. Cowboy up punk, or take your pathetic little comments and go annoy someone else.

I agree with almost everything you've pointed out here, but a couple of things to consider: a) If you've got any incredibly nosy control freaks in your life, you might not want them making an issue out of everything you've ever posted on the internet. b) I used my full name here until one of the CHUD MB infamous losers accused me of some things that are totally false. Things that I don't want people I work with to even debate in their minds about me.
Arguments can be made about either of the above stated reasons, but people probably have different reasons for being anonymous and I usually feel that's their business. On the talkbacks, though, people are truly using their anonymity in ridiculously annoying ways.

They were mocking your stale, unfunny, misogynistic blog material by impersonating similarly stale, unfunny, misogynistic entertainers. Did you really not get the joke?
