We’re beyond proud to bring you the final one sheet art for Martin Scorsese’s next film, Shutter Island. I saw the movie a couple of weekends ago and I really enjoyed it (you can read my review here), and in fact the film keeps growing in my estimation as I look back at it. This film is muscular, energetic work, and it’s easily the best movie Scorsese has made in years, in terms of the craft and the power of the filmmaking.
You’ll be able to offer up your own opinion in a month and change, but in the meantime enjoy the final one sheet art for the film. Yeah, it’s not much different from the teaser art, but it’s the poster for a new Scorsese film – premiering on CHUD! We’re damn psyched about it.

The book was poop. From early reviews it seems like this might be the rare 'movie is better than the book' situations.

Don't listen to RinTinTinFoil. It's one of Lehane's better books.
I haven't read the book, and I'm only familiar with the basic story outline, but is it just me or is the tagline on that poster giving away the ending to me?!
actually devin, EVERYTIME you review a movie that scorsese has done, you always say "its his best movie since goodfellas"…you did that on aviator AND the departed..so i shall take what you say with a grain of salt since those movies were middle of the road and this movie looks silly

So, it's no longer monochromatic and they changed the tagline? Well, and the date.
As far as posters (or even poster finals) go, can't say I'm terribly impressed.
However, I'm still looking forward to this movie.
I saw the trailer back when it was going to be released this year, couldn't stop thinking about it until I read the book and then found out it was pushed back until February. Great read, looking forward to the cinematic version.
I've never read a book by Lehane that I would classify as poop.
I really enjoyed the movie even it I did sort of have the ending in my head before it, well, ended. That said, it's actually a fairly spooky read and I was totally into the characters so I expect the film will hopefully mirror all that if not more. Since it's Scorsese, I think I won't be disappointed. BTW, Devin now says it's Scorsese's best in years. He's not the only one I heard that from. I enjoyed Aviator and The Departed (the latter more) but I think this will be more interesting.
