With all the talk about Marvel superhero movies that has been happening lately – with more sure to come as Thor begins shooting and Captain America director Joe Johnston does press for The Wolfman in coming weeks – I thought it would be fun to revisit a time when Marvel was making movies the right way – for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and starring such acting powerhouses as Matt Salinger in the role of Captain America. And when they made the brave choice of having Turner & Hooch star Scott Paulin play the Red Skull. Yes, this, along with the Dolph Lundgren The Punisher, was truly the golden age of Marvel Movies in the 20th century.
So here, for all the youngsters who don’t know how it’s done right is the definitive Captain American movie. In its entirety!

Dolph Lundgren's Punisher movie was better than that War Zone piece of shit.
I've always wanted to see this. I actually think Dolph's Punisher is pretty fun to watch, and I love the early superhero films of the late 80's and early 90's (ex. Blankman). Plus its got Ronny Cox.
God hates Canadians…
Anyone that liked the Dolph Lundgren Punisher over War Zone is an absolute Ra Tard, no offense to the ra tarded.
was this unreleased like the Corman Fantastic 4?
Anyway to see this outside the US?
I had to kill Scott Paulin because he made a mistake. Now its time to erase that mistake.
Did you know that Matt Salinger is actually J.D. Salingers son?
Since I don't live in the US, Hulu won't stream it to me. That's okay though, I already saw too much of this crapfest with the Nostalgia Critic review.
Albert Pyn version? This was Oz TV one night. Some decent cutting and editing in some of the action, but it reeked of cheapness.
The music montage in the middle of the movie… "Memories of You, Girl"… sounds like the kind of shit Trey Parker and Matt Stone would come up with… It's sooooo bad that it's good!
And the guy singing over the end credits? He sounds drunk.
Caption America just stole that guys truck…ha ha ha
At least the costume was good.
This has been on you tube for years.
I saw this when it first came out… I just want you all to know how much cooler I am than all of you.
The WW2 part of the first 10 minutes is actually pretty ok, it goes off a cliff pretty soon after. Like the clear shield.
I hope the Cap. movie plays up the fish-out-of-water, pre-1960's frozen guy thawed in a world he doesn't understand angle.
I have the teaser poster which is great, and unintentionally hilarious because of the "In theaters everywhere, Spring 1990" tagline at the bottom. That thing never went NEAR a theater here in the States. Still a great poster though. I take it to cons with me so that I can get it signed by anyone that's worked on the character over the years. It's a pretty good conversation starter, as they either get a real kick out of it or (if they're younger and maybe not from the U.S.) they had no idea that the movie even existed. Either way, it's fun to talk about how astonishingly bad it was. Also, Comment #13, the costume had RUBBER EARS on it, it wasn't so great…
Ned Beatty's in it, it can't be that bad.
Ned Beatty's in it. It can't be that good.
Don't dispute me!
