Moon is out on dvd and blu-ray right now. You’ve seen it, right? You understand why director Duncan Jones is one to watch? How he managed to pull one of the best performances of last year out of Sam Rockwell and managed to create this completely convincing and fascinating world with a relatively tiny budget?
Just checking.
The director’s followup film Source Code will star Jake Gyllenhaal (as we reported back in November) and THR is now reporting that Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan have joined the cast. Golden Globe nominee Farmiga was last seen being incredible in Up In The Air (although it pains me to tell you that it was a body double during that scene where you heard everyone’s jaw drop in the theater), whereas Monahan was last seen in Eagle Eye, although around here we all love her for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
The film is all about time travel! More specifically it’s about a soldier (Gyllenhaal) who is forced by the government to investigate a terrorist attack. They stick him in the body of a commuter affected by the attack and force him to relive the experience over and over until he can figure out who is responsible. Farmiga plays a communications officer that controls Gyllenhaal as he travels through time and space, and Monaghan is a woman that’s in a relationship with the body Gyllenhaal is inhabiting.
Sound amazing. The film starts shooting in March- more as we hear it!
Gush about Ziggy Stardust Jr. on our messageboards.

sounds vaguely like Assassin's Creed.
This sounds uncommonly original. Duncan Jones floored me with Moon which I was fortunate enough to see in the theater. I can't wait for this, it sounds great.
This must be the one that's filming for a few days at the Ottawa train station. We don't often get Hollywood movies filmed here (big deal when Tori Spelling was here to shoot a TV movie or something) so it's been all over the news.
And seconded about it sounding kind of like AC, which may not be a bad thing. Looking forward to this.
I'm getting some "Deja Vu" from this one. Although it sounds much less horrible. Interesting, too, that it also stars Donnie Darko.
NOOOO I didnt want to know that it was a body double. Love that scene.
Thought Vera in Up in the Air was a body double… Disappointed. 🙁
Moon was fantastic and these ladies are gorgeous so we'll see if he can keep up the good work. Monahan was last seen in Truker though, not Eagle Eye. She was amazing in that.
Monaghan was in Trucker yeah?
Nice stems
Wow. This sounds surprisingly original. Nothing like the TV show "Quantum Leap" at all. No way.
Maybe Scott Bakula can make a cameo?
To be honest, I think Moon is pretty overrated. That's not to say that it isn't good, but the reverence with which it is treated is a little baffling. It's a solid sci-fi story and expertly done with a small budget by a first time director, all of which is impressive, but the story is fairly predictable and for some reason it just didn't do much for me.
That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing what Duncan Jones has in store for us.
I hate body doubles. Moon is awesome, and I can't wait to see what Jones does next. I just hope that eventually him and his dad team up on something.

I've read part of the script. No, it's nothing at all like Quantum Leap, so feel free to unpucker.
The script is brilliant and FAR better than that DEJA VU rubbish.
I've never seen Moon.
It's on my list. But based on the trailer, here's what I wold say it's about:
Man on moon base slowly goes crazy after finding a copy of himself crash landed there. Then discovers he is a robot, and the copy is his replacement model. Am I right? Am I right?
BTW – this 2nd film sounds a lot like the video game Assassin's Creed.
This comment is awesome in retrospect.
