Disney just released their annual report, and with it came two new images that are just full of surprises! The first is for Cars 2, and the concept art shows that clearly they’re taking the concept to a whole new level. Check it out!
All the world’s a racetrack as racing superstar Lightning McQueen zooms back into action, with his best friend Mater in tow, to take on the globe’s fastest and finest in this thrilling high-octane new installment of the “Cars” saga. Mater and McQueen will need their passports as they find themselves in a new world of intrigue, thrills and fast-paced comedic escapades around the globe. All joking aside, this does tell one plot point- Mount Fuji means that the cars are going to Japan. In MOUTH-WATERING 3D!
Along with this art they included a still from Toy Story 3, and it is just as revelatory.
Curious! Is that a fair? Will they perhaps befriend Gnome Chomsky or Mustachio?
Toy Story 3 is set to hit theaters this June 16, while Cars 2 hits June 24th next year.

The Cars "saga"? Is everything a saga these days?!
Not too excited for Cars 2 but I'm not apart of that demographic. I'll still see it but it's the first Pixar film since… well, the first Cars, that I'm not dying to see right away.
How about Lasseter stops trying to cram this damn Cars shit down our throats? We know you love car culture, John, now please stop. I hated Cars, by the way.
So Cars 2 will be all Initial D drifting and shit? A Yoda-esque sensei will make him deliver Tofu.
Yeah, I can't get it up for Cars 2. Cars and A Bug's Life are the only two Pixar films I haven't absolutely loved.
On the bright side, 2011 will be giving us *two* Pixar films: Cars 2 in the summer and the intriguing The Bear and the Bow around the holiday season.
Maybe, just maybe, they could work on some of the issues with the first movie, and actually make Cars 2 better. However it ends up, you aren't going to see the Cars "saga" go away. After all, Disney has dedicated a few dollars, oh, say… ONE BILLION… to make Cars Land (amongst other rides) at Disneyland's California Adventure. So, their bets are hedged.
In part 2 of the Car's saga McQueen gets encased in carbonite.
Cars merchandise is one of the biggest sellers Disney has. Little boys eat that stuff up. Luckily I have 2 girls so I don't have to buy Lightning McQueen toilet seat covers and all that. Still have to put up with the Tinkerbell pillowcases though.
It not just little boys that love Cars. My two-year-old daughter loves the movie and has two different stuffed Lightning McQueen's.
Me, I never understood the hatred toward Cars. Maybe it is just that Pixar has set the bar so high, that Cars seems mediocre in relation to movies like Toy Story, Finding Nemo or The Incredibles.
#3 because he doesn't have to and no one cares what you think.
Chris: Your daughter is clearly a lesbian. I hope you're not a bigot.
Wake me when Incredibles 2 is announced.
Isaac Asimov wrote a story called Sally about AI cars without the first law taking over the world and killing their masters. Strangely enough one of the cars in the Pixar movie shared its name with the main car in Asimov’s book. Maybe Cars is a sequel to Sally?
2 highly uninteresting images.. pointless waste of precious internet space.. hey kids! remember that cars movie you grew out of!? they may or may not be in Japan in the sequel! Alex will one day realize sarcasm on the web is out of his league.. as well as meaningful movie news..
Talking cars are just about the dumbest premise out there. I'm a fan of Pixar but Cars is just too dumb even for a dummy like me.
Does that wacko kid have his "Why Cars 2 Will Suck" website up yet? God bless that guy.
