You should probably quit reading this right now because nothing I am about to tell you is as satisfying as the image conjured up by that headline – a Nazi battling a wussy vampire while surrounded by clowns.
You’ve been warned.
According to Frau Blucher Finke at Deadline Hollywood, Christoph Waltz has been signed on to star in Water For Elephants, a movie to be directed by I Am Legend‘s Francis Lawrence. Waltz will be stepping in for Sean Penn in the role of an animal trainer at a circus who is abusive not just to his beasts but his wife, played by Reese Witherspoon. When Robert Pattinson’s vet student arrives at this Depression-era circus, a love triangle blooms.
Why the hell is Francis Lawrence making this movie? So weird. I bet he inexplicably makes all the animals CGI.

He wants to be taken "seriously," perhaps?
I'm guessing Pattinson signs up for the freakshow. As the 'Astounding Shiny Lad'.
I wonder if Pattinson will be allergic to Witherspoon. I have a sneaking suspicion he won't be.
francis lawrence and christoph waltz= cinemaic gold….pattinson, witherspoon, and story= cinematic shit
My wife liked this book.
And, yes the elephants will be CG.
Technically, there is only one elephant, though he does kill a man with a metal stake. I'm not certain that would be a wise thing to train an elephant to do. As you know, they are already nature's most perfect killing machine, no sense in teaching them to use weapons as well.
Sorry, but I cannot take Pattinson seriously ever again. He'll always be Edward the shiny vampire to me, and I suspect he'll be that for other men too. I can't ever watch a movie this guy will be in again.
I will watch this for Christoph Waltz. One of the most exciting actors alive. Can't wait to see what his career will turn out like.
"Why the hell is Francis Lawrence making this movie? So weird. I bet he inexplicably makes all the animals CGI" — hahaha probably!
