We’re a little over two months away from the A Nightmare On Elm Street remake, and the marketing is ramping up accordingly.
They’ve just released this second poster for the film, one which is very similar to the first. They’re smart here, they know how iconic Freddy’s image is and that they don’t need much more than that. They did throw in a little reference for fans of the series with the tagline, though.
. Along with that, some new images have been popping up all over the net. German website Moviegod just got four new pictures from the film, check them out below. One thing that seems remarkable is how close to the original they’ve made things. Each of these grabs could have been taken from the first film. Slightly disappointing for anyone expecting them to change things up a bit, that’s for sure, but it is Platinum Dunes after all…
In any case, expect much more on the film soon!

Nice to see that they kept one of the creepiest parts of the original in. The dragging of the bodybag through the school halls is the probably the first thing I remember being really scared by in movies as a kid. I'm not sure why I don't object to this remake more …
It's nice to see that they finally included what was omitted from the original movie….The climax that took place in the grocery store, where we discover that Freddy cannot be defeated simply by refusing to show him your fear and fighting back, but by showering him with a lethal combination of Scope and Listerine. You know how much that shit burns when you swish it in your mouth, especially when you have a cold sore. Now imagine that feeling all over you burned, only able to manifest in good looking teenager's dreams, shell of a body, which is basically one big cold sore….Woah!!! That is truly a new level of terror… What I really can't wait to find out, however, is why that girl is carving her arms up with a shark's tooth. Where do you even get one of those in the suburbs of Chicago?!?!? Can't wait for this one!!!
Remakes sucks. They're Hollywood's lazy way to make money.
So they used the Gothmog makeup from Lord of the Rings. Good to know.
reviews say it's a piece of shit in each and every way (in fact, i haven't seen a single positive review so far).
but then again, Platinum Dunes has never released a good movie, so no surprise there
The movie hasn't even come out yet. How can someone review or give an honest opinion of something that isn't a finished product yet. It culd very well suck but i'll wait and see. Not every remake sucks.
I like "If Nancy Doesn't Wake Up Screaming, She Won't Wake Up At All." As they seem to have basically done a more glamorous shot-for-shot remake, they should have just aped the tagline as well… Oh and it seems that we at least get to see the exact circumstances of Johnny Depp's demise.
@#6: List some of those non-suck remakes? I'm genuinely curious. The Crazies looks promising at least. @#7: Giant blender with Freddy-knives in it? Obviously they'd need to set Glen up as a health freak or something first.
#8 – John Carpenter's The Thing, The Fly (the original is awesome in its own way), Star Wars (The Hidden Fortress), A Fistful of Dollars (Yojimbo), The Maltese Falcon (that's right, Bogart's was a remake!), The Man Who Knew Too Much (Hitchcock w/Jimmy Stewart was a remake!). Hitchcock also did a couple other remakes of his own movies.
The Departed was also a remake of Infernal Affairs
