Really not expecting much after this one. I kinda dig what Haley’s going for here in Freddy- it’s certainly dark and much more like the first Nightmare on Elm Street than the jokey character he became- but does anyone hear a very drunk and horny Colonel Tigh in his voice?
(On a side note, can anyone tell me when we decided that blood has to be black to be acceptable for green band trailers? Who started that nonsense?)

Drunk & horny Colonel Tigh!! Yes! omgwtflol!1!1!one
I wish it actually was.
Oddly I find this trailer MORE effective as the first seemed to show many nods to the first. Aside from the pushing through the wall and the sticky floor everything feels fresh and new. The micro nap concept is balls out awesome. I'd rather this than another sequel that goes too far with stupid deaths and CGI.
Yeah, this was actually a much better trailer. Some actual jump scares, rather than cheesy imagery like Haley ripping off his jacket to reveal the Freddy Sweater. Still think this movie is going to blow, and that it'll be incredibly boring and pointless since the original is so iconic, but whatever.
I'm sorry but I'm probably in the minority that really feels this will flat out suck and was completely unnecessary…
BKB you are not in the minority. This is one of those properties that's just reboot proof. Why fix something that isn't broken? If the filmmakers had any balls then they would turn freddy into a fat bastard type with tourettes or something. If you're gonna reboot then change it up. DO SOMETHING NEW!!!
That's not black blood, he just stink-palmed a pretzel.
"Why are you screaming? I haven't even cut you yet." Oh man, that's a gnarly line. I'm really looking forward to this.
Yeah though I think it will suck balls I actually want to see it. Though I kinda wish they didn't remake the kills so verbatim. It they pull A LOT from the original then it'll just end up like the Psycho remake, only worse because we'll be constantly comparing it to the original. The Psycho remake was hard to compare since it was almost a shot for shot remake.
ERB Hopeful is the internet winner of the day!
What I think is most tragic, is that the scene where Freddy appears in the wallpaper over the bed in the original was done with simple, cost conservant special effects that scared the hell out of me and the bullshit CG that I just saw in the trailer looked like shit and probably cost more than the entire budget of the original. Why does this exist?
After the craziness of New Nightmare's concept, I doubt there is anywhere fresh or exciting this franchise could go. From this trailer, it appears there are far too many scenes from the original – a shame, as I was hoping for a completely fresh take. With all that they could be done with dream sequences these days – the CGI realm making anything possible – such laziness is incredibly disappointing…That said, it looks better than most of the sequels, except for the awesome that is Dream Warriors.
That kid at the beginning… PERFECT for Captain America. Fits right in with all those guys on the "official" short list. Get him an audition, I see the makings of a star!
i'll see it but the more i see/hear the less excited i am.
and black blood in green band trailers has been the norm for quite some time. i'd say at least over the last decade. just sayin
Better than the first trailer. Agreed the Micro-Nap is a good idea and is resonant with current knowledge about sleep disorders, so it's a good sign this isn't just the first movie with no new ideas. Also agreed the floral wallpaper effect looks terrible. Haley does look a mean little fuck in this one. That "origins" bit in the first trailer just didn't work in setting him up as the creepy nightmare man.
The black blood stuff started after a stink was raised over the blood in a trailer for one of the Kill Bill movies. I wanna say it was Vol. 2.
I so wish you hadn't made the drunk colonel Tigh reference. Now that's all I think of when I hear the new Freddy. I was looking forward to this… <sigh>
