If I had to name the Terry Gilliam movie with the most standard plot I’d immediately jump to The Brothers Grimm – two traveling con men pretend to battle monsters and find themselves in a position where they’re called upon to actually fight monsters. Take out ‘fight monsters’ and put in ‘perform exorcisms’ and ta-da! you have the plot of a pending Zach Galifianakis movie.
Shock Til You Drop’s Ryan Rotten got the scoop on this film, called Miracle Workers, from producer Michael Aguiler. There’s a script, and Galifianakis is ‘attached’ to the project, but there’s no director currently. Maybe the script is amazingly funny, but from here – based on just a quick description given at a premiere afterparty – it sounds like Galifianakis has attached himself to yet another movie that feels below his comic level.

The Hangover was also beneath his comic level. Sure, there were chuckles, but this man is THE funny. I'm not sure movies will ever do his humor justice. Still, sounds better than that Man-Witch thing. Is that still being bandied about?
jeffers morning to you! zach is dark comedy.. maybe apatow, but not will ferrell or a kevin james poppy movie guy (if his work with funny or die and tim and eric is any indication)
Personally I don't think this guy is all that funny. Funny looking maybe, but not funny. I think you have to be either drunk or stoned to find the guy anything more than amusing on some surreal level.
I'd like to see Mr. Galifianakis in the next Jody Hill flick. I think that'd be a great match.
Devin, you should work as Zack's stand in. Red dye don't cost much and you can keep shovelling food down your gullet like theres no tomorrow otherwise you'd lose "the look". And you can continue with your obsessive star fucking and name dropping. No real changes needed. Why not make use of your complete lack of fitness and personal hygiene? Lucky fucker.
They should make a "Bored to Death" feature film. Galifianakis is funny as shit in that show.
I'm tired of people crying about Zach doing these mainstream projects. Let the man make his money. He's waited long enough for the chance. And when he's ready, he'll put together his own little project that will blow us all away.
That's how these guys do it now. You think Patton Oswalt was on King of Queens and Fairly Oddparents because he loved the shows? Fuck no. He did it so that one day he would be able to do the Comedians of Comedy, and help boost guys like Zach up to his level.
#2 is right – The Hangover was horrible. I laughed fewer times than you did when reviewing Cop Out.
