A couple of people have commented to me that Logorama, which won the Best Animated Short Oscar last night, is sort of like Adbusters: The Movie. And I wouldn’t disagree with that!
The short, which is 16 minutes long, is more than a little brilliant, using nothing but corporate logos to tell a very corporate action story. It’s deconstruction and satire at once, and the logos are used in extremely clever ways that often comment upon them or subvert them. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s very smart. And you can watch it for free online, since the filmmakers would be sued to shit if they ever tried to make you pay for this. It’s in two parts.
