I just piped this thru my xbox on my 50" plasma. Cranked up the volume (do kids still say that?). I know more about this movie than most, but it still, like the headline says, blows me away. Great trailer, for what hopefully turns out to be an awesome movie. The release date is almost 9 months away so I wish them the best of luck. And I hope they keep at least some of it a surprise until then (for the rest of you).
Those images and that music…Jesus – 9 months to go.
Holyoke, Massachusetts. That looks fucking great!
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!
First Iron Man 2 and now this, should be a good year for blockbusters.
Wait Computers are sexy now?
Part of me is still geeking out seeing Bruce and the arcade Tron game… Interesting that the "real world" seems to have a palpable Dark Knight cinematography. Not that I'm complaining it contrasts the Tron world beautifully. But part of me wonders if this wasn't intended. We've come to see TDK as a representation of gritty realism. Interesting Matrix lesson learned but in sort of reverse. All I have to say is that if the 3D occurs in the "real" world its proof positive that they used it as a gimmick and 3D+Tron=Fail
I was a major skeptic heading into this with not too much love for the first one… but… I'll be the first to admit that looked fantastic. Energy was just shooting out of that thing.
The actor in the middle of screenshot 5 looks so much like a young Jeff Bridges. Intentional?. Anyway, I need to see this now.
Don't get it. Don't need to really. What is starting to bother the living shit out of this old fart is Disney.
When will some of you start standing on principle and start doing something about Disney? I think it's about time for a revolution.
I'm not kidding.
The more I look around, the more I see this country becoming a Disney Nation. Gene Simmons can call it Kiss World all he wants, but the truth is too many "big baddies" are sticking their fingers in the pie and we're all going along with it because we're satisfied, fat and still believing it's boom time baby.
Enough.
Got to see this before Alice in Wonderland Sunday. Cannot wait.
This last shitty decade was all worth it just for the chance to see Bruce on the big screen. He looks great, not to be too gay. Why couldn't Michael Douglas age like that. Also, Garret Hedlund needs to play Cap.
Who's directing this, Wachowski Bros?
Tron world reminded me too much of The Matrix and what's with the dude with the cane, looked like Jim Carrey as the Riddler.
Tron pre-dates The Matrix, Bladerunner, etc both in story and effects
This trailer needs more Austin O'Brien.
@BitsNumber1: How does Tron predate Blade Runner? Tron opened two weeks AFTER Blade Runner. Tron might have started production first but it had no impact on Blade Runner's story or VFX.
Hey mr.smeg, I'm pretty sure that's Clu.
Indeed Jobu, that's not even considering the book Blade Runner came from; but can see BitsNumber 1's point: Tron Legacy's allowed to be a bit clicéd considering it established some of them
@13. No, Blade Runner came out 25 June 1982.
Tron came out 09 July 1982.
Just to be clear, that's AFTER Blade Runner.
Re: Tron/Bladerunner – both feature design work by Syd Mead and owe a lot to Moebius (who also worked on Tron). They both shockingly owe a debt to things that aren't other movies. The great thing about this new trailer is that it looks like it's showing huge respect to the original but blazing it's own path too. Should we be so lucky with the inevitable Bladerunner Repliquel…
Good God that was fucking epic. Like an anime almost. Dude with the cane sold me.
Ummmm . . .I'll be there day 1 and here's hoping its good. But why is it so fucking dark? Where's the fun? Seems like they may have taken this a little too seriously.
All I can I say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw the first one in the theater in '82, loved it then, love it now still. This sequel is so long overdue.
Mr. Smeg, I think Andrew is right, it is Clu, which IS a young Jeff Bridges. Ahhh computer anthropomorphic creepiness. We love thee..
@21
it does look fun — and a little dark. but not too dark. which is how tron was, for its day.
I'm not complaining, but is Tron (the character) actually going to be in his sequel?
Who is this Joseph Kosinski guy? How did he get this gig?
Did the trailer not answer your last question? Seriously?
