After pissing off much of his fanbase with the awesome The Sopranos finale, David Chase has finally found his next project. According to Deadline
the former TV guy will be going theatrical later this summer, making a
coming of age movie about a bunch of kids who start a band in the 60s.
You
could almost see this as a TV show, and to be honest it feels a touch
late – the Baby Boomer nostalgia movies hit in the 80s – but I’m
intrigued by what Chase plans to do with this very vague concept.
The film is as yet untitled, and it’ll be coming from Paramount, under their rarely used Paramount Vantage banner.

Nope. Wrong again. The finale is not awesome. Seek notoriety elsewhere.
I'm surprised you seem to be passing some "very vague" judgement on this project because it's set in the 60s. You usually tout good characters and stories as the driving force of good movies. If he writes a compelling story with great characters, he could have it play out between several ticks living in your asshole (granted, it'd have to be a REALLY interesting story and REALLY great ti… er, characters), but he seems to be choosing a time and voice he's familiar with.
I'm guessing he means "vague" as "imprecise". Like the definition of the word.
#1…i respectfully disagree with your Sopranos finale analysis. Granted, i know the finale infamously split the fanbase in half on opinions, but I thought it was fantastic and unexpected. I figured they might go for a grand epic finale that would come off as more of a cop out (because how can you just end that show and tie up all loose ends anyway?) But it leaves it up to alot of interpretation and controversy. Keeps fans on their toes. And I for one, came to my conclusion (probably the most obvious one about the finale) and very much enjoyed it. Though Journey's "Dont Stop Believing" was a bit cheesy, it still worked. I thought at least.
