It wouldn’t be Hollywood without competing projects. Hot on the heels of the announcement that Sylvain White is working on a King Arthur movie comes word that Guy Ritchie is also thinking about visiting Camelot. Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge has been working with Ritchie on this version of the Arthurian legend, which is going to be pulling mainly from Thomas Mallory’s Le Mort d’Arthur, the same source material for Excalibur.
This King Arthur movie would be coming from Warner Bros, which kills dead Bryan Singer’s Excalibur remake, although it’s not out of the question that Ritchie’s version be called Excalibur; Warner Bros did go through the trouble of tying up the remake rights last year, after all. And both films come from the same source material.
What does this mean for Sherlock Holmes 2? Since that’s from Warner Bros as well, I wouldn’t expect Ritchie’s King Arthur movie to get in the way. The question now becomes whose King Arthur movie hits theaters first – or whose King Arthur movie dies along the way.

So, who to star as Arthur? Jude "Box-Office-Poison" Law or Gerard "Box-Office-Period-Pains" Butler?
The real question: which one upsets The Rain Dog the most? How dare they tamper with the good name of Jerry Zucker's First Knight, which didn't star Sinbad, but somehow starred Richard Gere, which somehow makes less sense than Sinbad. I am terribly disappointed that Sylvain White's name is not always, ALWAYS accompanied by light bulb jokes. Forget Paris, that was the movie I was thinking of! Thanks, McGerk.
Mallory blows. I really wish that one days someone would adapt Wolfram's version of the Occidental myths. It clings closer to the celtic roots, and subtly lashes against organized religion.

So that'll be Robert Downey Jr as Arthur and Jude Law as Lancelot then, will it?

John Boorman's version of the Arthur legend is totally inspired. To the sex, violence, action, story, romance, comedy and brilliant characters, it adds a level of mysticism, a deep love of the land. One of the best ever fantasy films. Obviously it's fair game to have a go at the world of King Arthur, but please don't call it a re-make of Excalibur.
How dumb has Devin gotten? How the fuck do you "remake" a legendary or historical tale? You know, there were other takes on the Arthurian legend before Boorman's Excalibur, but you don't call it a remake, do you?
I like Guy Ritchie movies. A lot of people hate Revolver and Rock n Rolla. I love those movies. I also like his movies because they have Mark Strong in them. Now this Excalibur of his COULD be good, if he uses Mark Strong. Otherwise, I don't know . . .

Through the movie Snatch their are scenes that are religious. The pray in the begin of the movie as well as reference to catholic prays. Why do you thinks he uses this in his film and what meaning. Also the scene where Brad Pitt is knocked out and in his drowning in water. what meaning or symbolic message is he wanting us to look at.
