IGN has the red band trailer for the new George Romero zombie movie, Survival of the Dead. I caught the film at Fantastic Fest in September and quite liked it (my review is here), but previous trailers haven’t really captured the weird spirit of the movie. This new one does a better job, although be warned that the film’s not really as action packed as it might appear here.

The teaser I saw for this did nothing for me, but this trailer is sweet. Super sweet! How could anyone resist? Good movie or not, well done, Mister-Trailer-Putting-Together-Guy!

Affection for Romero is the only reason this is getting OK reviews. If anyone else was behind the camera it would be harder to forgive the slack pacing, dire characters and aimless moralizing. It's not scary, it's not insightful, it's not interesting. It's just another movie with Dead in the title.
As a huge fan of Night of the Living Dead and Dawn' I found this movie to be laughably bad in some places; many instances involving the hilarious homo-erotic tension between the army guy and the young guy with the iPod "maybee one day we can shoot at eachother….." . I didn't think that the movie was a disaster, however I think i enjoyed Diary' more.
