Last night EA had the first teaser trailer for Crysis 2 premiere in the unlikeliest of locations- Times Square. Projected onto one of the massive video screens in the single most-hated area of the city for locals, the trailer shows off the new setting for the series- an abandoned, post alien-invasion NYC. There’s quite a bit of 9/11 imagery here, and if this is in-game footage- hoo boy. The next game’s going to be a blast, even if NYC is one of the most overdone locations in videogames.
Course, there is no audio on this video from 1UP, since it was supplied by calling a number. There’s a countdown clock on Crysis 2‘s official site http://www.sosnewyork.com so we can expect it to hit the net soon- we’ll let you know when it’s up.
Crysis 2 is set to hit PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.

Those graphics look real purty. Let's hope the story is just as good. I'm sure this game will have ridiculous minimum specs for the PC version and the console versions will be "good, not great" compared to their PC counter-part. But, personally, fuck graphics, I want a good story and something that compels me to live and play in that world. Also kind of sick of all this post-(insert any word here) settings. Let's hope they add some new elements.
Is Crysis 1 worth bothering with on PC? Didn't have an insane mega-computer when it came out and have noticed it in bargain bins lately but realized I really knew nothing about it at all beyond the original teaser videos like this one.

Yeah, it's a great game. Personally, I think the expansion (Warhead) is better, but I seem to be pretty much alone on that one. In any case, it's definitely worth a look.
