Could it be? It looks like Lionsgate is handling the marketing for the
upcoming “Ryan Reynolds in a coffin” flick Buried the perfect way,
teasing it just right. We’ll see if the
full trailer reveals too much but the
poster
and the teaser trailer we were just sent over do a great job.
Paul Conroy is not ready to die.
But when he wakes up 6 feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time- fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only 90 minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true.
Buried
is set to open in limited release on September 8th and roll out to a
wide one starting October 8th.

I keep reading that this movie "takes place entirely in a coffin". Everybody keeps saying "the whole thing is shot in a coffin". But there's got to be more than that – right? I mean, as interesting of a concept as it might be (especially for a short), 90 minutes of nothing but Ryan Reynolds laying down isn't a movie. It's not exactly Cast Away.
Can anybody tell me if it really is "shot entirely in a coffin"?
There's an epilogue that takes place inside a phone booth.
@#2: Ha!!! But yeah, #1 – likely that we'll get flashbacks and whatnot. Or Reynolds will have to vocalize his inner thoughts the whole 90mins.

But…being sentenced to The Friend Zone is a much nastier fate than being buried alive in a coffin. Have mercy on the guy!

That sequence in Kill Bill already has this movie beat.
Saw this at Sundance, the whole entire movie is Ryan Reynolds in a coffin, no cut aways, no flashbacks. Completely intense. Unbelievably done. Was still thinking about it the whole next day.
Can't wait for the remake in 5 years.
