Paul WS Anderson, the guy who thanks
God daily for Uwe Boll making him look good, is moving forward with his
3D Three
Musketeers (3D Musketeers anyone?!??!), and there’s a whole
shitload of casting announced for it. The Three Musketeers have been
found, and their D’Artagnan is in talks right now.
D’Artagnan is the young man who
leaves home to join the king’s forces, and Logan Lerman is in talks to
play the role. The movie’s September shoot date effectively takes him
out of the running for Spider-Man: The Teen Years, which I hear could be shooting in
October.
The
Musketeers themselves will be Ray Stevens (as Porthos), Luke Evans (as
Athos) and Matthew Macfadyen (as Aramis). Meanwhile Christoph Waltz
continues his villainous streak with a turn as Cardinal Richeliu, and
Mads Mikkelsen will be playing Rochefort.
It’s a really good cast, actually,
and it almost makes me excited to see it. And then I remember it’s PWS
Anderson! Oh well.

"Spider-Man: The Teen Years" Haha that's priceless! Wait, it is a joke right? I better go check…
We need to come up with a nickname for PWS Anderson.. um.. Pure Wull Sh*t Anderson?
Ray Stevens? that guy who does all the country "comedy" albums? Alright!!!
Event Horizon was very good by any measure and RE and AVP had moments of promise scattered about.
His epileptic editing of key action scenes is fine for sci-fi if a bit annoying,….but would be horrible for a swashbuckling film.
Blades flashing silver ,matching feathered hats fluttering about to a loop track of a techno Chemical Brothers hit from 1990's…..ok even Devils advocate is a bit concerned, but lets see it
Paul WS Anderson is already synonymous with human excrescence. Calling anybody who isn't in fact Paul WS Anderson, Paul WS Anderson is considered a hate crime.
Ray Stevens, The Streak! He ain't rude, he ain't rude, he's just in the mood to run in the nude!
The Internet hates Paul W.S. Anderson because they were told to by other people on the Internet. It's a hive-mind problem. This guy isn't anywhere near being an enemy of cinema. He's just some dude.
Well PWS Anderson is certainly not a terrible filmmaker, but I wouldn't call him… you know… particularly good, either. I did enjoy Resident Evil.
#7 – same goes for Bret Ratner. Every freaks the fuck out every time his name is mentioned, yet I can't really seem to find a single movie he's done that's caused everyone on the internet anal bleeding. X3 is what it is, but most of that is the script, not the direction. Rush Hour movies are exactly what a buddy cop movie about a chinese kung fu cop and racist LAPD cop should be about.
Anderson's movies are pretty much the same. They're mediocre movies that accomplish what they set out to do.
I, for one, actually enjoyed most of his movies … but then again, I am just a mindless sheep that doesn't "get" great cinema.
