Just so you know and can stop emailing us – we’ve moved to a moderated comment system. This is why your comments don’t show up immediately; they must first be approved by a staff member. We’re approving about 99% of comments, but the really dickish ones will never see the light of day.
We will try to approve comments as quickly as possible, but all of our staff live in the United States, so if you’re leaving comments in the middle of the night US time they may take a while to show up on the site. There’s a redesign slowly brewing behind the scenes and there will be a new commenting system coming along with it.
In the meantime we’ve re-opened registration on the message boards. You should have no problem getting an account there. If you do join the message boards, please read this thread first, as it lays out the very simple rules that we have.

Wad wondering about that, you bastards. Beats the hell out of that retarded capcha miasma, though.
Fantastic to know; it makes me happy to know I can finally post something and not get annoyed at not being able to post it.
Keep up the great articles.
Thanks. I've been reading chud for about 5/6 years now and I was curious where and why the comments went. And then when they were reinstated I sadly lost some respect for the site. I don't know why but I assumed it was a better class of people that came here. Now with the trolls being monitered, I can go back to blissful ignorance.
Also, do love the site. Keep up the good work.
Oh God, now how will I know if Devin is fat or if he's been blowing Judd Apatow?
Interesting that some of my comments (unarguably nondickish ones) have not been approved. Interesting indeed.
Sounds good to me. Maybe I will have to read a lot less from idiots telling Devin that he is a fat loser, and more about movies. I can only hope
While I don't mind it, since I generally leave comments as a way of saying thank you for your work and thus don't care about its actual posting, this does mean now that someone has to approve the comment making more work for you guys in approving them. Although, I bet there might less work involved depending on the article, since you no longer have to sort through the crap after the fact. I'm guessing the new commenting system would be tied in to the message board? So commenters would have to sign into an account and thus be held responsible for their postings?
Every day in every way we're getting better and better.
I am still amazed about people that have to comment about the writer and just are a general dickhead. Comment on the material and attempt to have some thought out comments. The trolling dips have become so boring of late.
Iron Man 2 was okay, you damn hater!
Sounds good. Intelligent discourse ahoy!
Thank the maker this is welcome news. I like the ability to add comments because it is more intuitive to me than logging in to a message board and having to scroll and serch and I have been a member of chud's boards for about 6 years now though I don't usually leave comments there. Having said that, there has been a noticeable lack of decorum and respect on the comments lately, and if I leave a comment I always respect the author and am never negative or demeaning. If I happen to disagree, I certainly am mature about it and not a jerk. SO this is great news. I love that picture by the way. It pretty much nails it.
Makes sense.
haha good image! I think it represents the interwebs inhabitants, for sure
Ditto on the magazine pic. Hilarious.
cool. i never ever comment because the dozen or so times i try the bloody commenting system keeps asking me to verify some weird random letters that i can barely read.
Excellent call on the moderated forum! And in return, I promise not to spew blind asshole nonsense in here ever ever again. Except when it's needed. Har har! In all seriousness, CHUD is one of the few remaining go-to sites for geek entertainment news 'n views, so keep on keepin' on. Lest you invite the hate. Peace out, biznatches! 😉
Good for you, guys. Time for a proper door policy.
Bravo for also proving that you're fair. I still see dickish comments going through as long as they're not trollish comments. You're allowing all sides of arguments, even when they're stupid and/or wrong, so I don't see how anyone can claim bias. That's the most anyone could possibly argue and then some.
If I can change and you can change than everybody can change
Good.
*Crosses fingers that his application to the message boards is finally approved after two weeks of attempts*
and after a decade of reading chud here in good ol' austria I finally started to comment today. Now I have to wait for hours for other people to correct my mispelled words and bad grammar.
This seems like a hideous waste of effort on the part of staff. Wouldn't the effort made to cull comments be better spent writing articles?
Is that dickish enough for you ?
Pls feel free to read and delete as appropriate.
You have become the reason Chud.com has a bad name.
Shame on you for dragging this site down with you.
Oh and we all know your Sam Strange too.
Pathetic.
You should put the power in the hands of your readership. Instead of employing someone to read almost every comment, why don't you have a system similar to places like engadget.com and eurogamer.net where the stupid, immature trolling can be 'down-ranked' into oblivion. Hope that makes sense.
As long as you handled that annoying verification problem.
Eagerly awaiting message board account activation…
He's not Sam Strange, you twat. Why don't they crowdsource the moderation, and let us rate down peckerheads?
How did you get HP Lovecraft in a Hawaii shirt?
good god that guy on the fake magazine cover has THE most punchable face i've ever seen.
I still can't get over the guy that complained about the ending of Children of Men. Jesus what an asshole.
I can't think of anything to say so I will just stick with the old standby: Thank you!
This is because of the Mad Men Season 3 review, right?
I dunno… I kinda enjoyed some of the dickish comments, in a perverse way. But hey, if it means no stupid verification bullshit (which could take 10 tires), then go for it!
